A very useful item

I was very anxious to receive the bicycle. The UPS delivery man asked me what it was. After I told him, he wanted one for his father so that he could be more mobile and autonomous. It was easy to assemble. Once the battery was fully charged, my wife took it for a ride. She was gone for 20 minutes. Now, she wants one. Very useful for getting around and at the same time having fun.

The bike came by UPS & was easy to put together. The one problem I had was a damaged battery holster. There was no telephone number (that I could find) to contact Walmart to have the part replaced. I called the manufacturer which replaced the part without cost but noited that because I did not buy directly from them shipping costs was on me. I did not appreciate that. The bike took my weight (@ 240) and preformed in a test ride better then I had hoped. The real test will come when i bring to Watkins Glen Race Track in July to help me get around. The track (road corse) is 3.4 miles in length, which i travel 3-4 times a day to get my photo ops.

Got this EZ-Go at Walmart's clearance price. Already own an IZIP TriCruiser, so was familiar with the issues. For the $$ spent, this is hard to beat. It goes about 3x faster than walking. For "cargo" I bought a Sterilite covered plastic container for $4 from Walmart, then drilled 8 holes in its bottom and mounted it to the cargo carrier using plastic zip-ties. Incidentally, when we experienced battery problems w/the Tri-Cruiser, our local (Surprise, AZ) Interstate Battery store has replacement batteries. The Tri-cruiser has 3 batteries of 12 volts each, while the Ez-Go has just 2. Thus, While the Ez-Go hasn't quite as much zip, with pedalling it will get you up quite steep hills, albeit slowly. The portability of the EZ-Go is a very desirable feature which makes makes it possible to carry into places that the Tri-Cruiser and other non-portables could not go.

2008 I-Zip EZ Go Hybrid Electric Bicycle Review

We have an old clunker truck and it finally gave out so instead of putting more money into the truck which my husband was using to go back and forth to work we decided to get this electric bike. The trip is about 8 miles round trip and it took about 20 minutes for him to get to work on this street legal electric bicycle. He loves it. He has added a rear view mirror and a saddle seat both are available at walmart. He has not yet come home without the bike still showing FULL charge. He is about 200 lbs and he says he only has to peddle a little when going up hills to assist the motor. Top speed is around 20 mph. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to recharge. He also added a small tarp 6x8 which he has strapped to the back in case it rains or looks like rain he can quickly throw it over the bike to keep it dry. The other nice thing about this bike is it's size, weighs about 50 lbs, not too heavy, and it folds down easy so you can put it in the back of your suv or car. That was the main selling point for us as we needed something we could transport when needed like if it starts raining I can pick him and the bike up with no effort. As far as putting it together, it was a breeze. It took him about 30 minutes from box to built. There is very little you have to do. You have to put on the front tire, connect the brake cable, put the handlebars on and the front fender and boom your done. My husband loves his 2008 I-Zip EZ Go Hybrid Electric Bicycle and says he doesn't miss the old truck at all and we are really loving not having to buy gas for it. Hope this helps your decision !

IZIP Electric Foldable Bike

I have been using my IZIP for about one year and I really love it. It is pretty easy to put together if you are somewhat mechanical. It came with a quickstart guide and if you take the time to read it and the OM before attempting to complete the assembly, it is pretty simple. Iy is really very well built and ride like any small wheel folding bike. Don't expect it to handle like a full size bike but for short trips - it perfect! I added a basket and use mine for all my round town trips to the store and such. It will pay for itself in the short term and you will feel better about the fact that you are not driving your car.

I must preface this review by saying Walmart as a company stood behind this product completely. The associates were curteous and very helful. That said: The first bike would not work b-- battery box plug wasbroken, rear wheel would not turn, and the front brake would not adjust. I called the manufacture and they basically said to send it back, there was nothing I could do. Walmart sent me another. It worked except the pedals were not in the carton. I took the ones from the first shipment and now I have a fine running hybrid bike. It's a little tricky to ride in terms of the little wheels. Small wheels don't roll over objects as well as big wheels. I'm no longer intimadated by the hills anymore. Buy it! You'll like it.

I believe that if Consumer Reports tested this bike they would probably give it a "Best Buy". It takes a little getting used to because of the 16" in wheels, but I had owned other fold up bikes with the same size wheels so it was not really a problem. If I had purchased this same bike from some of the other sites that I checked, and had to pay $699.00 or more, I probably would not have rated it so high. I spent about 2 hours assembling the bike, [this includes 15 or 20 min. reading instructions and getting it out of the box and adjusting brakes and etc]. I had a little issue with a broken battery holder, but a call to the factory took care of that. I am 70 years old and weigh about 200# and the bike handles my size very well here in FL, but I am anxious to see how it handles the "hills" back home in WV? The bike is very well made, [except for the above mentioned plastic battery holder] and I would recommend to anyone.

I live only 4 miles from my office so I bought this bike when gas hit $4.69 a gallon. First, it arrives only partly assembled so be prepared, if you're not mechanically inclined, to get some help with setting it up. Once set up, you'll need a professional bike repair person to give it a thorough check up to make sure brakes are properly adjusted, etc. Second, before you take it on the road, give it a test drive in a safe area - like an empty parking lot. The wheels are tiny at 16" so it rides a bit differently than a full-sized bike. I rode mine around in an empty office space and couldn't stop grinning. It's really fun. My only complaint is that, using pedal power only, you can't really go very fast unless you're going downhill. There is only one gear so you're pretty much limited to a gentle cruising speed. On full throttle, level ground, your feet won't keep up with the pedal rotations but on slight inclines, the throttle/pedal combination is great. I get passed all the time by regular bikes but it doesn't bother me because, when we get to the hills, I can make it up easier than they can. Most people don't realize it's an electric bike so it's really fun to throttle it up and blow past pedestrians when traffic lights change. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. I've cut down on gasoline consumption by about 50% by riding it to work 3x a week so it will save me bundles in the long run.

I would buy the electric mountain bike for 399. but I broke my hip and I had to get the shorter bike in order to get on bike and it is good for exercise for me. Great fold up for Motorhome. Be patient on the first charge I did not get it charged properly until the 3 charge. Need to ride it and use up all the battery and then it will charge properly.

One of the pedals kept falling off

The bike had to be returned a day or two after I picked it up because one of the pedals kept falling off. The bike folds up OK, but is too heavy to be really portable. It's a nice feature when you want to store the bike without it taking up a lot of space. The battery and electric motor also work OK, but I would prefer more power so it could handle hills better. Instead of trying to find all the right tools and struggling to assemble the bike, I'd suggest having Walmart assemble it for you. I was surprised to find that they don't even charge for such service.
