I bought this refrigerator based on the high ratings from Consumer Reports. So far quite pleased. Love the see thru door. No need to open to decide what beverage I want. Should help to lower energy consumption. Same goes for the ice and water dispenser. Had to open bottom drawer on my old machine to get ice. Wife loves the layout inside. Also very easy to correct any ice cube clumping on door dispenser. Has only happened once.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted a door in a door. They have met my needs of limited space in my kitchen allowing people to continue walking with the smaller door open. It's nice to get quick access to frequently needed item, such as, milk, creamer, jam, butter, and blueberries and raspberry for my wife's oatmeal. Also, awesome to tap on the window to see inside to see if you are running low on those frequently replaced items. It was on sale which just added to its benefit.
It's the quietest, most energy-efficient refrigerator we ever purchased. We love the door in a door to have items that we routinely use: butter, cheese, milk, etc.
The whole family loves this fridge! We have had it since December 2019 and it has yet to disappoint. We love the front tap light and beverage door, makes grabbing a cold drink a breeze in our busy house. The dual ice makers are also amazing! Leaving ice for cold drinks in the door and a bin in the freezer to fill up our ice chest on the way to the lake. I couldn't say more great things about our LG fridge. Make the purchase, you will be so thankful you did!
I have had this a couple of months and am completely thrilled with my decision to get this one! I love the easy acces door for things I use often. Having ice in the door and in the bottom drawer has turned out to be so useful when company is over..The French doors give me the wide shelves which easily hold a large sheet cake or full pan of lasagna! The fruit/vegie drawers operate smooth and the flat deli drawer makes it easy to find cheeses/lunch meats etc… and of course it looks awesome!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are loyal LG appliance owners & happy to report that the overall performance of this Refrigerator is very good. It's been about 7 months since we purchased it and only had 1 problem with a loose water line inside the door. LG fixed within 24 hrs of calling for service. Outstanding!!
My wife really wanted the new see through window, whereas I really wanted dual ice makers. This was a substancial upgrade from my previous fridge. Couple notes/complaint: There is only 1 divider in the freezer space, and no mini shelf in the sliding door. (In the freezer) I liked to put ice packs for the kids and batteries in this little shelf, and I liked to separate meats/veggies/frozen foods in the bottom... It looks like there is a space for a shelf in the door, which is probably favored for the higer models, but it would have been great to have additional accessories available if I wanted to buy them. I looked. No luck. In addition, the shelve placement is limited in the fridge doesn't allow for a wine bottle to be placed in the lowest space AND to have more than one shelf above it. So, now we have a huge space above our wine with only one shelf. Lastly, there are no dividers for the pull out drawer. I feel this was a huge oversight. I like to separate cheeses, and snacks and meats in this drawer. I think if LG could offer additional accessories, this would have been a great option.
This refridgerator is a classic example of designing something that has great features but using it in the real world amounts to a disaster. The main fridge section of this box keeps food close to 38 F all the time. The Instaview portion of the refridge keeps food at or above 40 F. I used two digital thermometers to track main and Instaview terperatures over a 24 hour period. Milk is supposed to be kept below 40 F yet the logical place for milk would be in the Instaview door area but that area is too warm! The three storage levels in the Instaview compartment show temps at or above 40 F. Our old fridge kept all the food in the main compartment at or below 37 F. The strange thing in all this is my wife loves the idea of the Instaview and stores foods there that can stand 40 F and higher temps. I hate this fridge as no food in my opinion should be kept at or above 40 F. I paid big bucks for a LG fridge that isn't usable in the real world if it can't keep all the food in the fridge and instaview at a safe temp. My wife won't give up this Fridge but I would in a second. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The freezer drawer seal has a quarter inch gap along the entire top edge. We have defrosted the freezer 3X in 2 months. Service replaced the seal with a similar one. Photo shows chilled air reading with door closed.
I have it set at 33 degrees (Coldest it will go) and the refrigerator only gets down to about 37-38 degrees, and more commonly floats around 40 degrees. The condiment door compartment will only get to 40-42 degrees at best. I had a service tech out from the company I purchased it from, who called LG and was told "this is normal" and basically you can not have anything in the refrigerator or it will block the airflow. Literally saying that it will only cool if you don't keep anything in it, and never open the door. Here is picture of the inside of refrigerator, it is far from being packed full or blocking the vents. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
