We have a small zoo in our house consisting of 2 ferrets, 2 cats, 2 dogs and a leopard gecko. I stay on top of cleaning but the animals leave a smell in our house, especially our ferrets and the cat box. We bought this air purifier and it immediately changed the air quality in our home. Even my mother in law who is sensitive couldn't smell any animal Odors when she came over. It has been life changing and I can't imagine ever not having one now. I highly recommend!!!

Our young daughter burned pretzels in the microwave one afternoon and we could not get that awful burned plastic smell out of our home... that is until we purchased this product. Holy moly. Within hours we were breathing fresh, clean air again in our kitchen - dining - great room. It is so quiet, very modern and sleek; an all around a fantastic addition to our home. I had recently done a wood staining project in my apartment and the machine caught on so quickly that my air was not in the best quality. The night feature is a nice touch, the lights dim out automatically based on the amount of light its sensors. Overall, love it, so glad to own a Bissell Air Purifier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far it has exceeded my expectations. I cannot get over how quiet it is - and how effective it is as well.
MY BISSELL - air220 arrived yesterday, and I couldn't wait to unbox it & get it set up. The item arrived well packed in a sturdy box, with reinforcements in the right spots to keep everything just so during the shipping process, and unboxing the air purifier was simple & easy. After taking the unit out of the box & out of the protective plastic bag, I then opened the unit up to remove the filters which were packed (in plastic covering) inside, & removed the plastic, then replaced the carbon filter & pre-filter & hepa filter, positioned the Air Purifier in my living room where I desired, pressed the on button, and it immediately defaulted (as described in the manual) to "A"utomatic mode, and began it's room diagnostics for the first 30 minutes, after which I happened to just glance over at the purifier and noticed it switched to a blueish gloc with the letter "A" indicating the air quality was good in my room, the fan noise lowered (indicating it now switched to a lower setting) and the cool thing is at night when I turned out the living room light, almost instantly, the display dimmed as did the blue glow (switching into night mode) so (IF) you happen to place the unit in the bedroom, there won't be an annoying glow of LED's to disturb you. I'm already noticing a difference after just 24 hours of operation in my apartment, and I will say the build of the unit, along with the overall quality and well thought out easy to operate features make this air purifier a great choice for my needs.
I liked the purifier, noticed light indicator changes in color, detecting air quality in my living room. I let it run 24 hrs Most of the time. The unit looks great and well built, plus shipping is quick enough that it took less than a week from the time ordered and the time received. Furthermore your customer service (Suzy) was very efficient in response to my emails.

I tested it by simply spraying a little Lysol to disinfect the kitchen waste basket and the light went from blue to read almost immediately. It picked up all the harmful propellants from the Lysol spray. The auto mode also works amazingly. I had it on auto and the light was blue when I clean the counters with bleach the light went red and the fan went from low to high! This is one awesome piece of tech! LOVE IT!!!

On top of the pet dander, we also had a dust problem prior to running this unit. This one unit is cleaning the air inside the whole house from its perch on top of my refrigerator. We can definitely breathe better! We keep it in auto mode so it runs more or less as needed. So far we have not had to change the filters, but it will be easy to do when the time comes. Unit is made of quality sturdy materials - not a cheap plastic product like some other companies.
