This model has been an exceptional washer and the "self venting" system is one of the features that was most important in our purchasing this model. We added the pedestal drawer base under this unit and the matching dryer. Both have provided additional storage for laundry room items. This is an excellent choice for the money!
So far it's great! My last one was a different brand and lasted 21 years, so we shall see. This machine is bigger and I can wash my king size comforter with room to spare. It is also more efficient for sure. Hope I notice my electric bill decreasing.
This machine made me a believer that a good front load washer exists. I've never experienced any musty odor from the seal. The microban and vent fresh technology is excellent. Efficient laundry auto-dispensing gets clothes clean and saves me money. This washer is better on garment wear and tear than any top load I ever owned.
I loved my new washer and dryer, is big , we are family of 6 this washer and dryer performs very well, we are happy!!! After a lot of research I decided on GE!!!
only had for a couple days but love it so much. not totally sure i'll use the few additional features compared to the next lower model so i'd probably save some money and go with the lower one next time. but either way, super happy so far just a day and a few uses after installing it.
The front loader washer was huge. Pay attention to the measurements listed. This is not the regular size washer. We got the pedestal and definitely glad we did. We also had the door hinge switched for our ease of transfer to the dryer. The features are long and the best surprise was how quiet it ran during spin. I installed it myself and I'm glad I didn't start it up without removing the tub transport bolts. That's another thing to pay attention to. Tank low warning light came on and that's another feature that comes on when the detergent tank container is low.
Excellent unit, works perfectly. Love all of the features.
There's a few bad things about this washer. 1) the front door seal, the lip is a smidge too small, I get water outside the door on some washes. 2) The soap drawer has sharp corners on it, so be careful not to snag your clothes or jab your arm. 3) The microban gasket may stain deoending on what you wash. Washed a dog bed that had a brown fabrib bottom and it left permanent stain on the gasket. 4) DO NOT buy the 7" riser unless you are prepared for lots of reverb noise. It's a small open-back box that reverbs like a bass guitar on a 75watt amp when the washer spins out. I thought it was the washer being noisy, turns out the riser box top metal panel was flapping like a 15" subwoofer. I made a small shock absorber to fix the problem, see pic. There's a spring in center and the top is a piece of foam rubber, this stops the riser box reverb. If you can't make something like that then find a way to stack foam pieces so the top metal cannot freely flap up and down. 5) I not sure why the water inlet control valves are so noisy, then jam off fast and it makes a bang in my water pipes. 6) The drain motor-pump is very noisy, way too noisy for a washing machin in year 2023.
Brand new washer leaks detergent and fabric softener from the control panel on the right side of the washing machine. The dispenser is located on the left side, so it is running all the way across the panel. I'm waiting for something to short out before my service appointment next week.
We have had this washer for 2 years now. Read the quote attached at bottom of review and thought it was a great option due to wanting cleaner clothes and less opportunity for our kids to have clothes that are still dirty bacterial wise. We are a family of 6 and have a schedule for laundry which consist of it being done and ran everyday. Once laundry is done, the vent cycle is usually ran overnight. Also with it being constantly ran, whatever water/moisture was left over from vent cycle being ran, it didn't sit for very long before the next load was started. Over the last 6 month my 2 younger kids started complaining of itchy skin. I investigated into the matter as what it might be and found mold growing on the microban technology. I wasn't 100% on top of deep washing the washer but I do use washer cleaner (see anttached photo) which was highly recommended from a decorated technician, twice every month and run a vinegar and baking soda solution every month as well. I am very disappointed with the false hope for why we bought it in the first place.
