I got the Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks, 2-Pack Dickies Crew Socks because I live in Chicagoland and winters here are brutal and let me tell you, they are awesome to have around: thick, fluffy and light, a comforting warmth and dryness to my toes and feet! They are also machine washable and I like the steel toe protection and an extra support to my tired feet like I have never experienced before. They are well made an even if they have an acrylic blend they still feel soft and cushy even after a few times of using them! Definitely worth to buy especially for us, the winter people!
Every time I go to the store and shop for socks, I always look for socks that are heavy duty and not fall apart after a few washes. I don't really use thin dress socks or any athletic socks for work but I do like socks that give you comfort and support. The Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks are the ones I get to use for work. These socks are thick, comfortable, and reinforced – reinforced at the heels and toes. The first time I got these socks I immediately noticed that these are heavier than normal. When I say heavier, I mean the warmth and support you get from these socks. I believe these will be great socks for winter especially if you have to work outside. Besides what they advertise and print on the package, the Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks tend to look superior in quality and made. I looked at the socks and they seem to be stitched well and carefully constructed. I also believe that these socks were made for rough or extreme conditions. The Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks are lighter in weight. Looking at how bulky and long, these socks are actually lighter and easier to put on. The socks do not generate any static so there's no shock here. And it also looks like these will not stretch out in time and lose its elasticity around the band. We hate socks that lose elasticity and keeps falling down. So far, I really like the feel of the Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks. They fit well and they are very comfortable. I have one pair washed a few times and so far I have not seen any unstitching, stretching, discoloration, and holes. However, as good as these socks are, I do not believe the Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks would be an everyday sock to wear casually. These are made for hard work and extreme weather condition. I can guarantee that these socks will keep you warm and comfortable in long winter months. It's funny that my wife wear these at night in bed whenever she feels like her feet are getting cold. Overall, the Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks are great socks to wear. I may not wear them regularly outside of work but I do feel relief knowing that whenever I need warm, soft, and comfortable socks to wear, I can always count on my Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks. I intend to purchase three more packs of these socks before winter comes. The Dickies Men's Thermal Steel Toe Crew Socks is definitely my go-to socks. I highly recommend you try a pair.
I know these are marketed as "steel toe" but I sincerely hope that nobody would actually think they are steel toed like boots. That being said, reinforced would be an understatement because these things seem to be extremely strong. You have a thick sock to begin with, and on the toe it has what is at least two layers thick of material, which makes it feel like it's reinforced while also adding a pad on the bottom of the sock. On the heel, you have the same material as the front on the bottom, and the back in the achilles area is reinforced with a different material. These are definitely a winter sock, and could even double as house slippers, they legitimately have that much extra material that they feel that way. Should make for a very comfortable winter sock with my work boots.
Pros: - Size 6 to 12 - I felt the warmth inside the socks right away - The socks are thick enough making it as an extra cushion for the shoes and feel more comfortable - Extra durable toe and Achilles heel reinforcement (but no reinforcement below though) Cons: - None so far
I'm not in a very cold climate area so it really isn't that cold to wear these socks year round but during the holiday season we do get lows in the 30's. I gotta say, these socks get the job done. They are so good that it makes my entire body feel warm. But they will get a little too warm if the temperature does go up. But definitely these are great socks for people who are outside in the snow and in cold weather.
I work for TX in a Prison and wear Boots,I got theses socks to see if they can hang with the up and down walking and other stuff without falling down. They worked GREAT,no sagging or sweaty feet very soft socks the boots had very little cushion and my feet were still happy with the Dickies Socks. Not too hot and made right.
I have Peripheral neuropathy And I am on my feet all day I bought the socks because they looked like they were very cushiony and make my shoes feel good to work, I have been on my feet at exactly 8 hours in a brand new pair of sketchers and my feet are fine where as with other socks or no socks I could not wear the same shoe earlier this week! Dickies steel toe used to be the best socks I ever wore. Thick over foot, and loose enough over calf so that it was comfortable but still stayed up. I used to praise this sock as the best. These are perfect for cold environments to keep your feet warm and the steel enforcement helps to stop the toes and heel from wearing through. Over foot it is still thick and comfortable. Very nice,comfortable and reasonably priced
Whether you are hiking or hunting or even just working any time you are on your feet all day, the proper shoes and socks can be a life saver. These Dickies brand thermal socks can help to keep your feet warm and comfortable all day long. The acrylic blend knit wicks seat away from your foot while retaining enough loft to provide cushion. The extra tough toe and heal sections will help to make the socks last the entire season even with regular wear. Lots of socks have reinforced toes and heals, this is the first sock I have come across that has a reinforced Achilles section (an area prone to wear when combines with high top work or hiking boots). Be warned however, these socks are thick enough that you won't be able to wear them with shoes or boots that already fit snuggly. Also, note that the socks run slightly on the small size. They are rated to fit size 6-12 feet. Realistically, they will probably not fit feet over size 11. (assuming average feet that is, if you have skinny feet, they may work for you) Overall, these are great socks for anyone looking for some thick, long-lasting work or hunting socks.
These socks feel great on your feet. They are warm yet breathable and are very soft. The heel and toe are reinforced and I don't see these wearing out any time soon. My Only complaint about them is they are a bit snug around your calves. If you have large calves you may need to push them down a little bit. I found the material relaxes slightly after wearing but not much. On the positive side of that they do stay up nicely. These wash very good as well!
