[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I have a 17 year old cat that's super picky. Because she's 17, she gets whatever she wants....which means I rotate different flavors of wet food for her (she flatly refuses dry kibble). This was the first can of duck food she's tried and wow, she loved it! I was super happy because it's got added vitamins and is healthy for her and she wolfed it down with gusto. I'm keeping this stocked from now on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat absolutely loves this stuff. He ate it all in 30 seconds and went back to lick the empty bowl. I didn't know this would be something he would like but I'm glad I had the opportunity of trying it out first to find that out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two cats are both picky, and they generally eat the same food day in day out, though we try every now and then to switch it up. Of course I can't taste it, but I can't imagine eating the same food every day. We have tried other low grain and grain free products, but cats are cats. I was quiet surprised when my fur babies gobbled all of the Beyond Grain Free Canadian Duck pate cat food. They do love pate style, that's pretty much all we buy, because otherwise the cats will drink up the liquid and leave the meat in other brands. I will be buying more of this and seeing what other flavors they like.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't sure how my cat would react to duck so I was slightly hesitant to try this stuff. She loved it! The can is just the right serving size too. Some canned cat food is way too much and then you either have to save it or throw it away. Perfect!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Of my 2 cat's, Pumpkin will eat anything you put in front of her, but my LoveBug is the finicky one and is not a fan of wet food. Just for giggles, I decided to offer this canadian duck recipe to LoveBug first, and guess what?!? HE ATE IT! He's 8 this year, and this has never happened in his life! Wait...what?? Yup, I'm going to be picking this up very soon. I am so excited that it's so good for him being grain free and having natural ingredients and real meat. That makes me feel good about giving it to him and knowing I'm giving him the very best.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My extremely picky kitty loved this food. I mixed the Beyond grain free Canadian duck pate in with her dry and she cleaned her bowl. Definitely will be buying more of this and other flavors for my fur baby
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cats are obligate carnivores. This means is necessary for them to eat meat to live and be healthy. I know it is important to make sure the cat food we feed our furkid is high in protein with real meat as the very first ingredient. Beyond Grain Free Canadian Duck Recipe Pate Wet Cat Food is a good choice. The very first ingredient is duck. This is a wet cat food that comes in a can. The pate style is meaty and juicy, which is good to help make sure cat is also getting enough fluids. Cats do not need grains and this formula is grain free. It also does not contain corn, wheat, soy or poultry by-product meal and without artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. My boy loves this food and eats it all right up. I give four stars because the label should say duck and fish, not just duck as this cat food also contains sardines as well as chicken and egg. Always check the ingredients. No problem for my cat but others may have allergies.
I've never seen cat food with sediment in the sauce before, and the gray/black color is off-putting. My cat ate it before I noticed the bottom of the can looked gross. Would love to rate it higher but no answers from Purina in what the stuff is or if it's safe.
2 cans gray/black color exp 11/22 in the garbage. Can't feed if something wrong with it to cats that are elderly. Will try again, but if same issue will be shopping for a new brand. Might be a reason my finicky Ragdoll wouldn't touch it. This was Salmon. Should be pink-ish. ☹️
We've been getting this particular type for my senior cat for a couple years now with no problem, a few bad cans here and there but we ordered a bulk order, we got 4 cases and all of them had this black tar-like substance at the bottom and the food was greyish. The pate is usually brown on the outside and a bit pink when you cut into it in the middle with some broown gravy on the bottom. It says this batch expires Oct 2022, but I still won't risk feeding this to my cat. He is 17 years old and it's very dangerous if he gets sick. I'll still buy this and pray that the batches I buy from now on won't have this problem because my cat is very picky and won't eat anything else, but this was a huge pain in the rear to deal with.
