1st filter would not register therefore the water ice machine stopped working… 2nd filter worked without issues
I'd loaded this as soon as it came the filter and it's giving me charcoal in my cups so I'm assuming that's from the water and the ice is a filter bad don't
Discovered that the CORRECT "no ribs" filter is only shipped with the fridge that is labeled "Made in CHINA"... The REPLACEMENT filters that GE currently offers which are "ONLY with ribs" as a replacement and are labeled "Made in USA"... Well, they don't work and continue to show ERROR! Very DISAPPOINTING and I will no longer be recommending GE products to any of my RV customers!
Same XWFE water filter to replace original. But replacement does not work. "ERR" message prohibits use of ice/water dispenser. Genuine replacement part? Nope. See photos showing the different design for the XWFE filter. What a joke.
Just like all the others here, I purchased this filter and it doesn't work. Just a big ol' "ERR". I don't want to hear about design changes, possible damaged filter etc. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM! Stop denying it and FIX IT! Having one with a RFID and then selling the one that doesn't without saying so is both DISHONEST and UNETHICAL! PICTURES shows the one on the left that works and the one on the right DOES NOT.
I purchased two XWFE filters from a seller on E BAY. Neither one of them works. Seller tells me that I need to remove chip from original part and attach it to the new filter. I cannot locate the chip and frankly I don't want to go through this exercise each time I change filters. I have found many customers complaining about the same problem on your site. I need a solution. Please!!!
If I could give less than 1 I would. It arrived a week after the expected date. Then it was evidently defective. I installed it and right away got an ERR message on my refrigerator door panel. Water would not flow at all. I took it out and reinstalled it and got the same message. Looked for solutions online which suggested to unplug the fridge to reset the message to no avail. I also learned ERR message mean faulty or non genuine GE filter. I put in a return request, bought a GE filter elsewhere and the new one worked perfectly.
Fakes
They don't work on my GE refrigerator! The GE TECH said there old new stock they will work on older GE refrigerators.mine is new they don't have a computer chip in the older ones ... the new ones need a computer chip.so don't buy these because they won't work..GE is really a bad company to do that.... I won't be buying GE products again ever 😡
This filter doesn't work in our GE side-by-side. It doesn't fit quite right, and "Err" is illuminated when you press "Water" button on panel. A filter (the same XWFE model) bought from BestBuy works perfectly (almost $20 more expensive than this one).
