These frying pans from Pioneer not only look great but they are very functional. I love the look of them and that they are fairly light weight. These pans are made to cook using very little if any oil and they work great. I use very little oil and my food never sticks. They also wash up super easy. The grooved bottom helps distribute the heat evenly over the bottom of the pan allowing your food to cook evenly. The wooden handle is great as mine has not gotten hot and I don't need a pot holder to hold or lift my pan. You should not use any metal utensils on these pans or you will scratch them ruining the nonstick finish. You also should never boil out all the liquid and let it get burnt or you could mess up your pans finish. I have used the pans to cook eggs, meats, sauces and lots of other things. They come out great. Since the pans are so easy to clean up, I do not put them in the dishwasher, it takes just minutes to have it nice and clean. These frying pans are well made and make cooking without lots of oil very easy. Give them a try I think you will really enjoy them to.
This set is great quality! I love and collect all Pioneer Woman collection. This set is Gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing to my french country kitchen. Taking them of the box you can feel the quality immediately. I love the added beauty of the faux wood handles that dont get hot. Everything so far that I've cook in these pans have cooked evenly. The teflon coating ensures food dont stick and makes for an easy clean up. These pans are dishwasher safe but I'd recommend hand washing. I highly recommend this set.
I have never used cast aluminum before, so I was a little unfamiliar with these pans. Usually I go for the cast iron, so when I first picked these up I was very happy with how light they feel. Even with the light feel, they are still very sturdy and have a nice substantial feeling to them. The design is also very pleasant, the wood appearance on the handle is very nice. The pans feel good while holding them, the handles are super smooth and it does not dirt the wrist to hold them and cook with them. Making my usual French toast breakfast on Sunday morning, everyone has approved of these pans. They have a nice crust on the French toast that they all loved. I liked how easy they were to clean up. Nothing would stick to them. Amazing to cook with. They seem very versatile as well, the card that came with the pans did say that you can use in the oven up to a certain temp. Since they are pioneer woman pieces, you know they are good quality. Would recommend, I am happy to have these!
I love these pans. The first thing I noticed was how light they are, even though they look like they should be a lot heavier. I love the quality of these pans. The handles are so interesting because they look like wood but they are definitely not wood, it's more of like a rubbery type material. The pans are totally nonstick, it's been so easy to fry things in there and even cook eggs without anything sticking. It is super easy to clean. I am A total fan of these pans.
I wasn't sure if these would live up to my hopes of their beautiful look, I wanted them to, and to my great pleasure they did just that! These heat up nicely, they are very sturdy without being too heavy. They cook evenly, and to my additional satisfaction they wash up quickly and with ease as well. I only use over medium heat, and hand wash. I was a bit worried the beautiful etched bottoms may scratch my glass oven surface, but happy to say all is well.
These are really nice skillets. I was worried they were going to be lightweight and flimsy, but they are just right. They came out of the dishwasher fine. The handles have comfortable faux wood grips. My eggs slid right out of the pan and onto my plate. These skillets should last for years.
Pioneer Woman Cast Aluminum 10" and 12" Fry Pan Set. Color is Charcoal Speckle Gray. They have a PFOA free non-stick coating. Boy oh boy are these pans beautiful, definitely has that vintage/ primitive look. If you have a kitchen where you are able to hang up some of your pans, these pans would definitely be hung up. I love making scrambled eggs in the 10" pan, heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and no messy clean up. My husband made cheesy Mac and cheese the other day in the 12" pan and oh my, it turned out perfect. With that being said, we all know how CHEESE is a huge pain to clean off ANYTHING, right. Well, let me tell you, their was NO hard scrubbing, NO soaking, clean up was a breeze. Now, these pans ARE dishwasher safe but I prefer to hand wash mine, I only used a very small amount of mild dish soap and the non abrasive side of a kitchen scrub sponge and that cheese was gone!!!! These pans have only been used a couple times of me writing my review but so far I love them. Super light- weight, durable, heats up quickly, cooks food evenly, and like I said earlier, clean up is a breeze. I would definitely recommend these pans for sure!!!!
I love all pioneer woman products. They are always high quality products and these frying pans are true to the brand. I love the 2 different sizes of these pans. I love how evenly they cooked my food such as burgers and how the food doesn't stick to the pan. The wooden handles are great because they don't hold any heat while cooking making it easy to hold the pan while it is on a hot stove. Lastly, I love how easily these clean no matter what you cook in them. I only have 2 complaints. First, it would have been nice if these came with lids. Second- it is a little disappointing to have a Pioneer Woman product that isn't in the typical beautiful floral print. Neither of these are important enough to be a deal breaker but still worth mentioning.
Great-look, great feel, but not what I was expecting. The product information I received read “cast aluminum...fry pan set”. No mention of heat limitation or nonstick coating. Was planning to use these on an outdoor grill during power outages. Guess not. Still trying to figure out how one can “fry” without ever getting above medium heat. With that said, the heat limitations are very limiting and make for very slow cooking. Even when cooking in the oven, I rarely go below 375 F. Normally, I can make a quick pan of chili using meats and veggies I've precooked and frozen. Following the instructions, that took forever! Finally, I just ignored the directions and used the pan like normal, starting at high then back down to 6-8 (using an electric stove). The pan was fine. Still easy to clean. Used the 10-inch pan to make eggs, again ignoring the medium-heat limitation. Pan did well. Nice-looking pans but by no means a cast iron substitute.
I thought the speckling would be on the inside cooking surface of the pan, maybe within a non-stick coating. But the speckling is mixed within a dark grey color that is the entire pan—top and bottom (see photos). The inside cooking surface of the pan is rough to the touch. The handle feels tacky— it's imitation wood. The overall look is 1800s country.
