I bought this battery for my Minn Kota C2- 30lbs with 15 1/2 feet canoe. I ran my trolling motor over 5 hours with full speed (level 5) but it's still have power on the battery. I think I can use it for over 8 hours for one charge. I also shop it around but Walmart has the best battery quality and price. Love it!
This was the second one of these batteries that I bought for use in my 19' camping trailer. I bought the first one in April 2014 and have used it with a 650 Watt inverter to power and recharge two laptops, phones, and cameras for my wife and myself on numerous camping tips since then. We also use it to power a 32" LCD TV for "movie" nights in the trailer (using a laptop as the DVD player). The one battery was doing the job but I was concerned about drawing it down below 50% capacity during a multi-day trip, so I bought the second battery to use in parallel. During a recent 3-day trip we ran our laptops for over 6 hours each and the TV for 2 hours, plus some misc charging of camera and phone batteries and barely noticed a voltage drop (down to 12.3 volts) in these Walmart deep-cycle batteries. At that rate we could have made an 8-10 day trip without recharging these batteries or dropping them below 50% charge. These are excellent batteries for the price. I also have 4 other Walmart batteries (27DC) that I use for backup power in our house and they have also performed without problems over the two and a half years that I've owned them.. One thing to note is that its best not to discharge deep-cycle batteries below 50% and keeping them above 80% will produce a much longer lifetime. I will typically discharge batteries like this somewhere between those to levels, and expect them to have an effective life of 6-7 years.
When my 9 year old Trojans needed replacing I was shocked they now cost 900 bucks. Since I only use my Cart to walk the dogs I thought I could get by with three of these little Deep Cycle Batteries. Boy was I right, their light weight and High Cranking amps really make the cart go, I can now even make the wheels spin on Gravel roads. They pack plenty of capacity for trips around the neighborhood and I always put them back on the EZ-GO automatic charger when I get home. They don't over charge or get warm, charger acts just like before. Group 24 Batteries are the same length and width as Trojans so these fit PERFECTLY in the Carts Battery tray, just add straps to hold them in place. You'll need 3 Batteries for 36 Volt Carts. Caps pop off for adding water.
I purchased this battery from a friend who purchased it at Walmart. I use it for auxillary powering my sailboat, which weights 950 lbs, to get back to shore when the wind quits. I fully charged it and tested it for over an hour just to see how well it would do. I'm powering a Minn Kota 40 and ran it on high (#5 forward speed which draws 42 amps) using a regular prop. After this I put it on the charger and it read 11.9 volts (49% charged). I rate this battery and the Minn Kota both 5 stars, as years ago we were lucky to power a fishing boat weighing much less for about 30 to 45 minutes with a trollling motor. Just one comment to Walmart. Somewhere in the specifications, description, or (anywhere in the add) it would be nice if it mentioned that this is a 12 volt battery. The model 24DC is confusing as I've seen questions asking how many volts this puts out.
I've owned my battery for 4 years in use, and it just goes on and on. Just give it charge, and occasional water, and it does it's job. It's robust, and powerful, with a long life. What more could you ask?
I've had this battery in my boston whaler for one year and a half and so far so good. Plenty of power to crank my Honda 90 motor even when it has been sitting for a while. I'm going to buy another one as a backup to the first one.
Just purchased this battery to replace an identical Everstart deep cycle battery. The old one lasted almost four years: not bad for an economy-priced marine battery.
These are good batteries, I have used them in all my boats I have had. Read some reviews that were not to good but I think the reason for that is even if u buy it brand new u still have to check the fluid level in the battery. There is no way of telling if that battery was in the store 2 months or 2 days. And yes it will start your car or boat for awhile if the fluid levels are low, it won't last long. I live in the desert so almost any battery u get is only good for about 3 years, don't care if u spent 200.00 or 80.00 dollors for it and u have to check it often.
I bought this battery in 2011. It spent 2 yrs on my pontoon boat, 2 yrs severe duty in my off road play toy and just dropped a cell in Aug. of 2015. No complaints for less than $80
Found out today that my local Wal-Mart only warranties marine batteries for 90 days. The local manager did the right thing (or at least I thought he did) and replaced my battery even though it was well passed the 90 days. You might want to check local policies before you buy one of these.
