Great Wall AC unit! I tried 2 other brands, LG and Perfect Aire. Both would stop blowing cold air after 5-10 minutes. This whirlpool unit continuously blows cold air until I shut it off. Perfect for my garage.
Very heavy-had to use wench to pull it up to wall to install it.---it looks nice and doesn't distract too much from decor---works great--won't be enough heat to keep place warm enough when temp drops below zero where I live. We love it amyway.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently installed this 8000 BTU unit in our master bedroom. It works great! It is not too loud for when we are sleeping either. It keeps my bedroom nice and cool. My husband was able to install it with no problems. He liked the included trim. It polishes the look. I have had no troubles with this unit. I like to set it on economy mode. It only turns on when needed then. I have not used the heat much yet but when I did it kept my room nice and toasty. I have recommended this unit to several of my friends. So far it has been very energy efficient. I plan to use this unit for a long time.
Shoppers should know that in order to put this thru the wall, you need to buy an addtional SLEEVE. The one from Keystone seems to be the best What I liked the best was the price. $200 cheaper than any other vendor on the internet.
We've had several window/wall air conditioners but this Whirlpool is the coolest, literally! Cools much bigger area than listed even on the economy setting in 114* excessive heat warning days. I did, however, drill a whole underneath the right external part of unit since a/cs in general produce lots of water as it did not have a removable plug.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whirlpool really hit it out of the park with this ac/heat unit combo. This is an in the wall unit that offers heating and cooling perfect for a 350 square foot room. This is a 8000 btu unit for cooling and roughly 4200 for heating with a standard house plug that uses 115 volt outlet. A huge plus in this unit is it comes with a programmable remote. It is a universal fit size. Measurements are about 20.3" D x 24.2" W x 14.5" H. The unit does come with trim as well as a rear grille to seal in the look. The best part is having thus unit is a lower electric bill and saving on money. Don't walk but run to lock in your unit asap. You can't beat this unit with what it has to offer.
I've had this AC for about three months and have no serious complaints with it. It cools the house, the thermostat is just not calibrated correctly. It's about 6 degrees cooler than it says it is, so I set the temperature higher...no big deal. The only other issue I have with it is that the auto on/off is a little quirky. Part of it is to do with the AC and the other contributing factor is NOT the fault of the AC but where I have to place it in my house (a dedicated wall frame) and the layout of my house. I've found I have to manually turn it on and off occasionally throughout the day because it doesn't want to kick on and off like it's supposed to. I had a leak in my roof and in my house (fixed) and the house got very humid. I used the dehumidifier on it and it dried the house within a half hour. I was very impressed. When I first installed the AC the weather was bouncing up and down so I tried out the heater on the AC unit. It won't warm your house, but at least if something should happen to my furnace I know it will take the chill off enough that I won't freeze. I usually run a 12000 BTU in this house, but opted for this 14000 BTU. It was worth it. It cools a little better.
It is not quite loud, even with the fan on low speed. And don't believe it does a good job of maintaining its setpoint. Seems to be too cool or too warm most of the time.
So excited to replace my old unit with this one. Bought this one last July and everything went great until a few days ago. Funny how it worked fine just past the 1 yr warranty. Now it's not blowing cold air. Filter has been spotless, coils spotless, everything has been clean and kept clean. I know we use it a lot here in Florida. But I expected much more from a $500 name brand unit. The unit I replace was much smaller and a no name brand and it lasted in excess of 10 yrs. If I had the box, I would return it. I don't know what else to do.
this a/c unit is disappointment. does not cool my living at all. While standing in front you can barely feel the air coming out on high fan.. so upset to late to return it
