Bought it to replace the ink jet printer. The ink jet printers have a problem with ink drying out if you don't use them often, and the cartridges were too expensive to replace. With this one I don't have that problem and the printing is very clear. It is monochrome and only prints black and white. That's not a problem for me. Use it to print recipes from online sales and to make copies of other documents. Love it...
I love this printer. I lead a lot of small group bible studies so I love the fact that it is much faster than ink jet and and prints double sided and collates. It has really made some tedious jobs much quicker. I haven't experienced any jamming. I also use it to print reports for my small business. It has exactly the features I need.

I print any copies needed, recipes and other miscellaneous items. I've got this connected to my wifi and my iphone. I'm so excited with my new printer/scanner. I will never go back to HP or ink jet. Easy set up also! No problems.
I needed to replace my all-in-one that took ink jet cartridges - since I do not print in color that frequently from my home office, every time I needed to print I was forced to clean the ink jet heads. This was a pain and it took too long. I switched to this Brother B/W laser and could not be more satisfied. Highly recommend - easy set up and it's been working without problems for two months. Very good quality scanning and copy / print quality consistently. This is my first Brother product and I'm pretty impressed.
Printer feels solid as compared to an HP I have now. Prints fast. Plastic cowling is robust. Love the Black & White feature only only. Saves on cartridge price and use. Scanning, printing and utility Software is included and user friendly. Love the phone support. Very helpful. Purchased a Canon. Don't wast you money. Software doesn't work. The HP I have uses tons of ink. An ink jet model.
Thus far I have found this scanner/laser printer to be excellent. It's printing sharp and crisp. The main reason I was in the market for a laser printer has already proven out. You see, I DON'T print a lot of things from my computer every day. I'll have a burst of printing to do and it might be weeks or MONTHS before I need to do so again. Such extended down-times usually resulted in clogged/dried ink nozzles for my ink-jet printers and I'd have to buy new cartridges. A laser printer is an entirely different animal and extended time between print jobs has been no problem at all for this 2520.
This is a very complete multi-funtion printer/scanner/copier that does not take up a lot of space. The included start-up guide and manual were not much help in setting it up, although the online help succeeded in getting this printer on my network and occasionally print off our iPads and iPhones. Most of the time my iPad can't locate the printer with AirPrint, however if I turn the printer off/on, repeatedly search on my iPad and do a alluring "iHope it works" dance I can print using AirPrint.
The machine itself is fine. I'd had great luck with Brother before & wanted the same manufacturer. However, wireless products are supposed to be easier. While I appreciate the absence of wires, it took me well over an hour to set it up. I got it working after I stopped listening to Brother & set it up myself.
The printer seems to work fine -- it's fast, makes a lot less noise than my old ink jet, and seems to be economical to use. The driver for wireless operation, however, is another story. At first, the scan function didn't work with my MacBook unless I turned the printer off and then back on. Brother updated the driver, so scan now seems to work, but the printer and router lose contact with each other daily (they are literally 18 inches apart). The device must be reset with the router for wireless operation each and every time I want to print. So, the software leaves a lot to be desired.
I bought this copier in the vain hope that I would be able to print from my cloud-based computer. The copier does indeed copy and scan, but 999 times out of 1,000, it refuses to sync with my computer and router. I think the thing has narcolepsy: it is always "offline" and/or "asleep." Also, the little window is completely dim, and impossible to read unless I shine a flashlight on it. My husband and I have been struggling with this copier for a month now, and we are going to return it tomorrow.
