I have 40 year old terrazo floors that lost their shine ages ago. My neighbors did crystallization. They had to move. I mean, they had to completely empty their house and it cost thousands of dollars. Their floors turned out beautifully, I must say. I came across your product and got the same shine for a fraction of the cost and it was incredibly easy to apply. If you can mop a floor, you can apply this product. Just be careful the floor is really clean, as dirt will get stuck to the floor. I'm wondering how long it will last. Thanks for a great product.
We have a very large garage with a concrete floor. (I say garage...but it has a nice bathroom, kitchen, fire place, dining table....basically its a family room with garage doors!) It has painted concrete that has 2 coats of epoxy on it. We weren't sure if it would work or not because the bottle says not for painted concrete. Four thin applications, 3 hours, and two aching backs later....success!! This floor didn't shine this well when it was new...it's beautiful! Can't stop looking at it!!!!
I have a nice (old) guest house vacation rental with pine (softwood) floors downstairs and old linoleum/tile floors upstairs. The old floors were a big problem to get them to look somewhat clean. This Zep hi-gloss mop-on floor polish is amazing. All the floor spaces have a high wet floor shine and people don't complain about the floors looking dirty any more. I have found that the shine lasts a long time, unless you have to mop it or people track in mud/ice melt--then it needs another light coat of the polish after a quick mopping. After about a year the Pine floor needs stripping, because the wax yellows, and the areas near the pellet stove get the fine ash/dust ground in. Nothing makes these simple (stressed) floors shine like this product. Highly recommend--have been using for 5 years now.
We have a 10,000 sqft concrete shop floor. Every year or two we clean, strip, seal and finish our floors with these Zep products. The most important step is to mop the floor with clean water several times before laying down sealer and finish. We use the stripper with a floor scrubber, mop it up, then follow with another floor scrubber using the neutral cleaner, that way it gets up a of the stripper that gets dried out or flung around and missed. When applied carefully, you get a perfectly gloss finish. Also if you skip the sealer, you will see more imperfections in the base material. The sealer helps keep the concrete looking more uniformly wet. Also the best way to apply this product is with a wide microfiber mop such as the Rubbermaid Hygen Q570, Q424 and the telescoping angled handle. we used to use the rayon mop heads but they take longer and leave streaks. the streaks will dry out and be fine, but they wind up taking like 2 hours to fully dry between coats. Also there is really no difference between the wet look and high traffic. Or any other floor polish products like this. We have used different brand sealers and polishes and have had no issues between them.
I used this product on my Mexican tile floor about 10 years ago and it is still good. I also used it on my dining room table top and my granite countertops. Also good.
Being new to applying the wet floor look product, I was disappointed that the instructions on the bottle (and this website) does NOT tell you exactly how to apply this product, I.e. mop, type of mop head, buff when ? After each coat or when all done ? Very vague on the details.
I own a residential and commercial cleaning company and have been doing the floors at a doctors office for 1 year now using pro care stripper and floor finish. Always looking to enhance the look of my clients floors I watched the zep 4 step floor care video and decided to try it. I can say the stripper and sealer went on easy. Then I used the wet look floor finish applying in thin coats with a rayon mop head and each coat streaked and dried a different pattern. This is on vct flooring in a doctors office and now after 3 coats I have a uneven streaked glistening floor. Very disappointed and now have to start from scratch and waste 3 hours again.
I used the zep hardwood cleaner on my new laminated floor, dry mp it says,, and it streaked big time,, had to get down on my hands and knees to clean to scrub the streats out,,, NO GOOD
