One of the best bargains you will ever find. You get two filters for less than half of the price of one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time using a non-refrigerator brand water filter. I was very unsure because of concerns about the fit and overall functionality. This filter looks identical to my previous filter which eased my apprehensions about the fit. It fit like a glove! It took less than one-minute to take out the old filter and replace it with this one. After inserting, I aligned the lock arrow on the filter with the lock symbol on refrigerator to secure it in place. Keep in mind, that after replacing the filter, air will get trapped and thus you will need to purge the water line by dispensing water, in intervals of depressing and releasing, until it no longer spurts water. I would recommend that you place a towel under the water dispenser during this process to avoid a mess! You will need to run a couple of gallons of water through after replacement to completely flush your new filter. I have not had any issues with this filter; my water tastes fresh and its clear and there are no leaks. It comes with filter expiration date reminder stickers to place on the filter handle. We did not use these as our refrigerator reminds us when the filter needs replacement; this is usually every 6 months or if you notice a decrease in the water flow. The cartridge also has a QR code for easy reordering! As reference point, this filter replaced my Samsung DA29-000208 water filter.
I love my Samsung Refrigerator. But I'm giving this review to warn consumers to please inspect your filter for small cracks etc before installing. My filter ruptured and flooded my house. The service technician had never seen this happen before, but said it could have been caused by the filter being dropped, causing cracks in housing.
Im not a generic brand kind of guy so I tend to steer clear of the off brand knock offs, which in this case are plenty and cheap. I have a Samsung fridge so I bought a Samsung filter. It does a very good job, does everything it should, but is too expensive 2 times a year.
These filters never top tasting bad. I bought a box of 3 and threw the other 2 out. We have followed the instructions and we have run countless gallons of water through the filter and it still tastes horrible. Don't waste your money. Nice thing is our model refrigerator can operate without the filter. I purchased an 'in-line' filter to filter the water before it gets to the refrigerator.
The design of the DA29-00020B has been modified, and without a part number change, no longer locks into the water filter holder. I believe a new supplier of the filter made modifications that ignored the earlier models. Poor engineering effort not to check compatibility with earlier models. My French Door model is only four years old.
I have a model RFG298HDRS Samsung refrigerator built in 2012. The fridge has been great and still works except for one small issue: new HAF-CIN water filters do not work. In fact, Samsung doesn't even list this model on the filter finder page, almost as if they didn't expect their product to last more than 10 years. I've been purchasing genuine Samsung water filters for the life of the fridge, and the last ones I bought won't work at all. The water can barely make it through the filter due to a design change. When I remove the filter, the dispenser works fine. Samsung seems to have value engineered themselves right out of a repeat customer when the time comes when I really need to replace this refrigerator.
Purchased a replacement filter - Samsung - from a big box home appliance store and installed it according to directions. Let water flow for several gallons - again, according to the directions on the package. Worked well for a week, and then water flow began dropping. Now it takes more than 20 seconds to fill a 6 oz juice glass. Everything else - faucet position, water pressure, plumbing setup remains unchanged. Possible a defective filter? I dont know.

I never wanted a subscription and now I cant cancel! Who can afford $53 randomly jerked out of their bank account. Too many hoops and time to try to speak with someone. This automated/robotic messaging system is a joke!
