eMedia My Acoustic Guitar (CD-ROM)

It's never too early to turn your children on to the wonderful world of making music. As research has shown, children who play instruments are generally more sociable, have higher self-esteem, and on average, earn better grades. My Acoustic Guitar is an educational program designed for kids ages 6 and up to get the hang of one of the most popular instruments out there. The fun interface uses an animated character named Gary the Guitar who brings to life the music lessons of Kevin Garry, Ph.D, in a way that will keep them interested. Starting with the basics of tuning and learning chords, the CD-ROM goes on to more advanced sessions where kids will learn to read music and eventually play full songs. Gary the Guitar isn't the only animated aspect of My Guitar. There's also an animated fretboard that shows your child exactly where to put their fingers as the live recorded audio plays. The speed of the music can be adjusted with MIDI tracks, so kids can learn at a pace more comfortable to them. Other special features include an automatic tuner, metronome, chord dictionary, and digital recorder. Get your child started on the pathway to proper plucking with My Acoustic Guitar. System Requirements Windows: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 Macintosh: macOS 10.5 to 10.14 (Internet connection recommended for online activation.) Attention Mac users: As you may be aware, Apple has decided to discontinue support for 32-bit applications starting in macOS 10.15 (Catalina). If you wish to use eMedia software which requires 32-bit support, do not upgrade past macOS 10.14 (Mojave). eMedia is working on a new version that will support Catalina and future versions of macOS, but they do not yet have a release date for it.
