Just bought my first food saver and have been using it constantly. I first used the brand name bags and rolls that came with the machine and had also ordered a box of the Weston rolls. The Weston rolls feel a little thinner than the name brand and the textured part is a little different but they seem to work just as well as the name brand rolls and bags. I have had no issues with any of the bags I have made and sealed with them. They are a huge savings over the name brand and I would definitely recommend them and will purchase this product again!
This can be a hunter's dream or love for a person who likes to buy meat in bulk. I recently bought at least close to 300lbs of meat and used about a roll in a half to seal and freeze the meat I had bought. I had no problems cutting to the size I need and have already tried boiling a meal in the bag. Worked great and had less mess. I would even recommend for people who like to make meals in a bag or for the food preppers who like to make emergency or camping MRE's.
Discovered last year. Does an excellent job of sealing meats, vegetables or fruits for freezing. You can have full meals frozen to use for camping trips or daily meals. You can also make up biscuit or cookie mixes for pantry storage & write the other moist ingredients with amounts on the front of the package plus baking time! Plus the bags can be reused if no raw meat is sealed. I seal meat (including luncheon meats into individual packages), loaves of bread & rolls (including breakfast rolls) so you can have them any time.
These bags are great in my Foodsaver. I have been out of bags because they are so expensive, so I tried these. They work great. Sealed every time. They have a nice heavy feel and cut very well. I told my sister to get some as well.
I have been using this value for my seal a meal for several years now. These bags are a great value for sealing everything for the home & garage. Have had food for 2 years sealed in these bags in the freezer.
Husband found no difference in the quality of the bags compared to the name brand bags. Will purchase again.
way cheeper
These are great bags for the food saver and a very good value.
This is my 3rd time ordering these bags. They work great with my vacuum food saver. Once I ordered the smaller 8", they worked good but then my packages were long and skinny, harder to fit into my freezer. I save a lot of money buying in bulk and freezing when meat goes on sale. I found this 11" x 18' is a great "family of 4-6" size. It fits: 2-3 lbs. ground beef/ turkey, or a 3-5 lb tri-tip/ pot roast, or 4-6 boneless chicken breasts, etc. If you freeze smaller portions I would get the smaller roll, but these can also be cut smaller if needed. Its been a year now and No Freezer burn yet. If you are a beginner... be sure to lay your items flat while freezing or they will freeze into awkward shapes and limit your freezer space. Also make sure you get a full seal. If you see "juices" being sucked into the vacuum sealer then you probably wont get a good seal... just place the items how you want them in the bag and freeze them, flat, for about an hour (par-freeze) then vacuum seal. Last tip be sure to write with a sharpie etc. What the item is, # of lbs, and date. Once frozen ground beef and ground turkey look a lot alike. Always rotate so you use you older stuff first. Good Luck, I hope you enjoy.
I see no difference between this product and any "name brand" product out there. They're bags, for Pete's sake, they store food, they do it well, and they do it for close to 40% less. What else is there to say?
