This Blender is excellent - just exactly what I wanted it to do - make Smoothies. It's nice to have a blender that breaks the ice all the way and not have any pieces or chunks - Excellent product
I haven't used it, other than to test out the different button's and to make sure the low/high switch work's. But, I can say, that they do work, and it is much quieter, than the cheaper model, that is around $30. And, the blade's are definitely super sharp, so watch you don't cut yourself on them, when cleaning them! And, I don't doubt that it will do much better than anticipated, as it has a 700w starting power(At all speed's), then goes down to a consistent 450w of power. Which, our older one, that we had, since the 80's, was maybe a 350w blender. It is also somewhat light weight(Besides the glass jar, of course, as glass is pretty heavy, for what it is), and has rubber sticky "feet", that can hold it pretty steady, even when there was nothing in it, at top speed. Also, the low/high switch is not a flip switch, but a slide switch, just incase anyone was wondering. Oster has been a good brand for many year's. But, like all brand's, they do have their low level stuff, their mid-level stuff and their high level stuff. And, I would say, that this is definitely more in the mid-level, not necessarily great to use in a restaurant. But, it would do great in a household kitchen, where it's not used all day long, as if it were in a restaurant kitchen. But, I don't doubt, that this could fill-in, for those restaurant blender's, that would be similar in size, if need be. So, it wouldn't be a bad choice to start out with this, in a food truck, or something like that, then work to afford the better blender's...
We have been using this product for more than an year now and somehow I ended up looking for my order history so thought to write some good reviews since its been an amazing blender so far, no complains. we use it as spice crusher, smoothies blender and making tomato mashup...it works great in whatever way you use.
I've had the older model of this blender for twenty years. It was great and this new model doesn't disappoint either. It is quieter and blends like a dream. And it looks great on my cupboard.
I love this blender because ice just seems to crunch in seconds. I make protein smoothies every day, and usually, the blender is loaded with fruits, ice, yogurt, and other healthy yummies, and this blender makes smoothies for three in seconds without jamming up. In addition, its easy-peasy to clean ;)
As far as I can remember growing up my grandma, mom and aunts all used the Oster blender. And now the traditions continues and this is my second blender and I love my16 speed blender. But I recently noticed that the blade while using the blender was kind of skipping (the best I can describe it) and when I checked I noticed the black plastic base of the jar was cracked (broken) and I was so disappointed and upset especially when I tried to find it in stores as they no longer carry the 16 speed blender. This blender is a necessity in our home and in our culture for making our sofrito and of course other things. Please Help!!!! Also I can use and need a lid replacement too!!! HELP
It just seemed to be a little cheaper than the last one that I had and I don't like the plastic sleeve so to speak that goes around the blade at the bottom of the glass part of the blender, I hope that's not too confusing
the only thing I didn't like was,I thought I bought the 48 oz glass jar and I got the 40 oz jar,so it is a bit smaller than the one im replacing
I've ordered for Gray colour but delivered silver colour. In image its looking gray but its actually silver and black.
The blender works fine so far. Makes wonderful shakes, and I have crushed ice once which was OK. The black bottom cap makes a nice base for standing the glass jar, but it is tricky to get threaded straight. Once I tightened it too tight and there is not enough room to get ones hand in to get a grasp to lossen it. Next time I will make sure a blender does not have such an overwhelming base cap. Many of their other models do not. The picture does not indicate that it is all one piece.
