I always loved period pieces. Defiinitely a Jane Austen fan. But to see one done with an interracial theme was a dream come true. They did a great job in the story and enjoyed watching the main characters. Great movie

Loved the movie. Even though some of the true story has been a bit changed, I still loved the movie.
I wanted to see this movie so badly. It was not in the theatres very long. But to find it at a Reasonable price is very rare. It's like it's being "scalped". I loved the movie. Now I'm going to give it to a long time friend of mine, who also wanted it. It's an early B'day gift to her.

Movie is a very nice story about a girl whose father was a white aristocrat and her mother was african woman. She was considered royal because of her father background but the movie highlights the complications that Belle faced because her mixed race, as african americans were not viewed as equals and finding herself and her place in society. Beautiful movie makes you think about how life was difficult for her based on her skin color, something she could not change and how she was able to transpirer and overcome the boundaries society artifically imposed on her. A true story.
