was able to install Linux, fedora 36 dual boots Windows 11 and fedora had to use dkms to install a driver for the RealTec WiFi kinda suck to be stuck with 8GB of soldered memory, but knew that going in for what I paid couldn't even come close to this pref romance even on a used laptop
Walmart exclusive, Gateway, AMD Ryzen 7 Radeon Vega 10- all for $329, you can't beat it. Moreover, it's a beautiful laptop. Walmart shipping was fast and free. Thank you, guys!

This was quite a bargain. You get a 4 core CPU, 8 threads at 2.3Ghz base speed, with 4.5Gigs video card for less than 300 USD. Can't really beat that. Some have reported that their charger or battery was a dud. Not my case. Mine works perfectly. It is as fast and solid as you would expect from its specs to be. Perfect computer for regular office work, for media playing, light gaming, browsing, programming even and so on. Might run more advanced software like Adobe suite, arch, video and audio editing software but it's a stretch. For it's price can't go any better. Now, with such a price it has some negative points to it, they might make you choose more expensive options: 1. You can't expand the ram memory, you are stuck with 8 gbs, they come embedded in the motherboard. 2. The plastic encasing feels feeble. I'd try not to drop it ( i don't think it would sustain the heavy treatment kids might give it). 3. Ports are scarce, you only get 1 full-on power usb, other USB port, no Ethernet which could have been nice, 1 micro sd, 1 USB type c, HDMI and headphones. 4. The speakers are bad, like real bad. you are way better connecting it to something external or use your headphones. 5. The power button is just the right upper corner button on the keyboard which is annoying. I've pressed it by mistake a couple of times. That's it, but i mean, did I say i payed less than 300 bucks? For the price you get a low end physical feel but more of a medium performance laptop. To me it was a no-brainer purchase. Even my wife was ok with it Manny.
I like everything about this computer. I saved a little on this unit and got so much more than I will ever need.
This laptop is remarkably good for the price. I especially love the fingerprint scanner and built-in micro-SD card reader which are rarely available on even premium machines by well-known manufacturers. The battery life is great--albeit not quite the 10 hours as advertised; I also noticed that the included charger charged the device much more quickly than I expected. I should also mention that I have found the particular shade of blue used on this laptop is quite unique, so you won't have to worry about someone else picking yours up by accident. One issue I have is the keyboard keys not being quite as sturdy and a bit too responsive to even small, inadvertent taps. The only other thing I wish were improved was that the unit was apparently preinstalled with the wrong version of AMD's Adrenaline software; however, I just went to the website and installed the correct version. I would like to end on another positive: the computer was not preloaded with tons of bloat software that I had to delete.
I bought this laptop because of the low price. Instead of a new laptop that I ordered, Walmart sent me a used store display unit that couldn't be set up because it was password locked out with someone else's name on it. Walmart sent me a replacement unit without any problem. The new unit is working fine. The display is bright and clear with good color and contrast. The fan gets noisy at times but other than that it is working great. The photo is from the original unit when turned on.
I ordered this and right out of the box the battery would not hold a charge. Contacted Gateway twice and I opted to return. I got the blue one initially. Cust serv said that was the 2nd one they got back that day. Might just be a bad batch of batteries. But return it within 15 days and you can get a refund. Reordered the charcoal gray one this time.
This Laptop bttery died exatly after one year. and i am findinng very hard time to get exact battery model. and when i reach Gateway for replacement battery they are asking my card details to be sent on line which is a big Red flg and they are not allowing me to Order the battery my self. Be aware of this product... and stay away if you are planning to use this laptop outside warrenty period.
