The Maxi Cosi (kaia) infant car seat stroller combo comes with a baby stroller, carrier/ carseat, and carseat stand-alone base. The design is very compact and lightweight making it easy for storage and a definite space savor. The Maxi Cosi stroller has a padded cover on the safety harness making your little ones not only safe but comfortable. It also has multiple-position recline and an adjustable leg rest making it simple to give your child the best position for maximum comfort. This comfy design has a retractable canopy to protect them from the sun, easy grip handles, a cup holder, and a storage basket under the stroller. The carseat/ Baby carrier will also keep your baby comfy because it also has a padded harness, and head support for your baby. The baby will be protected from the sun or wind when using the retractable canopy. It is also a vibrant red color with tiny gray stitched design. This carseat can be used alone or with the stand alone base. I love everything about this combo from the design to the fact its so compact and lightweight. I love how stroller carseat combos have gotten better over the years not being so bulky. Defiantly, a very attractive and eye catching set that will be used for years with my grandson.
This car seat is nice and big, but doesn't weigh much at all. My baby is 14 months old and she still fits in it comfortable. The base adjusts to lay the car seat back or sit it up more. The stroller is easy to open and close and also very compact. If you lock one tire on the back of the stroller, they both lock to keep you from having to lock each individual tire, saved me lots of time already. There is two pieces you attach to the stroller to lock the car seat right onto it safely. I would recommend this set to any parent looking for a good quality product that is also easy to use and will last a very long time.
There is some minor assembly required. The wheels need to be snapped into place. All the other pieces, like the shade cover and parts that hold the car seat in place are accessories that will need assembly as you are using the device. First the negative. There was one aspect of the directions that nearly caused me to tear the fabric on the stroller. There is a snap on the side of the seat that holds the stroller seat (sort of) in place. The directions at that point are clear about lifting "up" to release the fabric seat part from the stroller. That movement caused strain on the fabric attached to the plastic of the stroller and could have easily tore. I will probably have to repair with some superglue. That minor pull that occurred could become worse with time. As you are putting together your stroller, be careful to notice how you pull or attach snaps. It should snap easily. If you have to force it, you're probably pulling at an incorrect angle. Now, for the good!! I absolutely LOVE this stroller!! It is perfect height!! I am 5'9 and I have always had a difficult time finding a stroller that could accompany my height and long strides. This stroller is perfect for that! My feet do not hit the back of the wheels, and the height is so very comfortable. I don't have to hunch over at all. My husband is about 6'3 and it's pretty good height for him, too! It has different angles on the handle so you can grip it however is comfortable for you. The seat on the stroller reclines back to nearly a flat position! it is quite perfect for a sleeping toddler!! The car seat attaches fairly easily to the stroller, too. There is an attachment accessory that you need to put on the stroller to make the car seat fit (that is a bit inconvenient). But it's not like I'm going to switch between car seat and toddler stroller often. If my baby is small enough to fit in the car seat, that's who I will walk with them in the stroller. I love the color. I have the black one. It's so modern and stylish in its lines. There is ample storage under the carriage of the stroller. Cup holder helps, too!! That detaches if needed. I would highly recommend this stroller for style, function, and usability!! I can use this for many years to come!!
The versatility of this combo stroller/car seat can't be beat. There are so many options and plenty to keep your child secure and mobile for the first few years. Love the classic black color, very stylish for any mom and any gender child. Lightweight stroller (without the infant/car seat), easy to lift and store (small size, see picture). Great shade hoods on both pieces. The instructions are clear, but the moving parts are very stiff at first and there are many changing parts for the different set-ups. Perfect project for dad-to-be to figure out and break in before frustration and daily use by mom. Overall the basic stroller set-up only takes a few mins or less once everything is out of the box, nearly ready to use. Also, the box it comes shipped in is HUGE and is very clear about the contents- recommend not shipping to your business if your co-workers are not aware of your pregnancy or letting sit out on your front porch if you are worried about passers-by helping themselves to your new stroller set.
It comes in a huge box. The stroller takes Five minutes to put together. The instructions are very easy to use. They have pictures and are written simple. The car seat is already put together, no work for you. This set is beautiful. It has a simple, clean design and can be used for girls or boys. I saw the pictures and assumed it was cheaply made like the cheap ones you pick up from walmart when you forget to put the stroller in the car and need one asap, and only pay $20, but, they break easily, and turn horribly. This stroller is very strong, very well made, easily maneuverable. We love it!! We are so impressed, and so surprised by the ease and strength of this set. The stroller will do a complete 360 turn without missing a beat! It goes through dirt very easily. The front wheels lock go straight with no turning or they can swivel unlocked. The brakes are on the back wheels and lock and unlock with your feet easily. There is not a bar in the middle of the handle to push, so you can get to your child more easily. On the handles are the gripper buttons, they look like breaks, to collapse the stroller. You just push your foot up on the middle button half way up the stroller and squeeze the brake looking buttons, it collapses easily, PLEASE TAKE THE CHILD OUT FIRST!! My husband loves the ease of the buttons, no screws to take out to take it apart to wash. All parents know that you have to wash these seats at least every couple of months, because our cookie monsters don't clean up after themselves too well. We also know that you have to take out screws and other things to get the cloth out, not with this stroller. The seat comes out with knobs, not screws, and the middle part has a slider plastic piece that is so easy. to use and also, this piece is where you slide the attachments for the car seat. The canopy slides off so beautifully as well. The car seat is so light and has a really simple design that makes it look so clean and pretty. The car seat is very light and makes it much easier to tote a chunky baby. The car seat base adjust easily to hold your (monkey), baby safely. The straps underneath guarantee that the base will not move and it straps to the frame of the car for extra protection for your child when they are in the car seat. The car seat easily moves from the base to the stroller. You just unclip the back of the stroller seat and the middle slider, clip on the car seat holder's and the car seat easily clips in. The stroller is supposed to hold a max of 50 lbs and the car seat at a max of 20 lbs. The stroller holds a little more and still maneuvers easily, and the car seat holds a little more as well. I am thinking that the car seat holds more depending on the proportion of your chunky monkey. This stroller set surprised us very much. The frame is so sturdy and well built. It maneuvers better than those huge strollers that are so hard to store because they are so bulky. No more screws to take out to clean it, just clips and knobs. My whole family highly recommends this 3 in 1 stroller and we believe that the price is fair for the ease of use, sturdiness, light, ease to keep clean, and the simplicity of the solid color with a pretty design, that suits the newer generation. This is a stroller set that will grow with your child from birth to school. For some reason, little peoples legs get tired more quickly than ours! And then, you get the extra bonus of having a car seat that matches for the first year of your childs life (chunky monkey). When they outgrow the car seat, then you can give it to a grandmother or caregiver who needs an extra car seat an get another 4 years out of the stroller. Extra bonus guys, it has a cup holder that attaches to either side of the stroller and clips down for sturdiness.
The 'Maxi-Cosi Kaia/Mico Nxt 3-in-1 Travel System' appears to be extremely durable, high quality, and very safe for babies/children up to 4 years of age/50 pounds. You receive both products and they are convertible. The car seat can be detached to go into the stroller, very easily. As your child grows, the stroller accommodates and will carry a child up to 50 pounds in weight (about 4 years of age). The system comes with an instruction manual with pictures/diagrams that aid in assembly and storage. Assembly is simple and amounts to attaching the front and rear wheels to the stroller, which is easy to do. It also comes with a cup holder attachment, is very easy to place on the upper side of the stroller. To remove the cup holder is just as easy by twisting slightly. In regards to packaging, the stroller is inside a box and the car seat is inside a box, both box's are inside one big box. If you do sight to store, you could have the two box's removed from the one big box so that you can fit the two box's in your car easily. The large box that the two smaller box's come in, is 28" tall, 19" in width/depth, and 40" long. It's all packaged very nicely and arrived to my house in perfect condition. The system comes with all the best safety features. It has a break system, lock system, front wheels turn and can lock in position too. Both the car seat and the stroller have a canopy and the canopies can be easily removed. The stroller also has multiple recline positions. I really like the basket area underneath as it is large enough to hold a good deal of items. The stroller folds up nicely for storage.
I couldn't believe how convenient this system is. Love the stroller, it opens easily and quickly; the car seat just clicks in, doesn't take up much room in my trunk. The stroller folds up like an umbrella stroller so it saves so much space! To open it there is a trigger on each handle, pull both at the same time and it unlocks and opens. There is a cup holder that snaps on the handle for Mom or baby bottle/sippy cup. It is about 25 pounds and very well built. The car seat appears to be well made, padded for baby's comfort, the padded straps helped prevent chafing on the baby's neck and the easy to secure & release strap restraints are a major plus .The base stays in the car and the seat snaps off for easy removal and snaps onto the stroller. The all black design makes for a nice gender neutral option and is easy to clean-up with a stylish look. It was very easy to put together, took about 10-15 minutes; a few minute to install the car seat into the car. It connects easily with straps to the brackets in the car. The only thing I can think of that I don't like is you can't get to the storage basket on the bottom from the back of the stroller where you are; you have to go around to the front of the stroller which can be a pain. Although it has suitable storage it isn't easy to use. I highly recommend this system for anyone who doesn't have a lot of room for a huge bulky stroller or for someone who can't lift the heavy infant carriers!
This travel system is much better than the Chicco Keyfit we used with our other babies. The carseat is really light and I like the bold red color better than I thought I would. The stoller is much smaller than the Chicco travel system stroller we have, which is really too big to go anywhere except walk around the neighborhood. When I bring it to the store or other places I am constantly running into stuff. This Kaia stroller is a great size and super easy to pop the carseat into. It will also make a great lightweight stroller once baby gets a little older. The stoller is smooth and the handles are a nice length for my husband and I. He is 6’ and I am 5’7”. The storage basket below is easy to get to and the cupholder is very nice to have. My only complaint about the stroller is that you have to use two hands to close it. This is difficult if you have packages or a child in your arms. You have to use both hands to pull in latches on each stroller handle at the same time, then kick up on the latch near the rear wheels. It is a little tricky to get the car seat out of the stroller too. You have to push in on the two smallish buttons on either side of the carseat and lift up at the same time which is a pretty awkward. The carseat is very nice. I really like the cushions on the straps and the head rest cushion it comes with. The material is very soft and cushy. My newborn sleeps in the carseat very well. It clicks in easily to the base and the base is the same to install as any other I’ve used with the latch system. My one complaint with the carseat is the handle is a litle tricky to move. You have to press in the large buttons just right and then it clicks into place VERY loudly. So far not loud enough to wake my newborn, but I imagine when she gets older and more alert it will be an issue. I found if you hold the buttons and kind of shimmy the handle to let the buttons out slowly its not as loud.
I selected the Intense Red Maxi-Cosi Kaia/Mico Nxt 3-in-1 Travel System for my friend who is pregnant with her second baby. First let's just start with the fact that pictures do not do this set any justice what so ever. It is gorgeous. The stitch work and embroidery are beautiful as is the color. The car set came in one piece so the only adjustments I needed to make were seatbelt fittings. The car seat itself is not as padded as I would like, but it is very lightweight and easy to lock into the base. The base was quick to install though I recommend for anyone in the Duval County/St. Johns County areas to call Safe Kids for a free, proper installation. Most parents, including me even after having 3 kids, install incorrectly. The stroller has a nice padding and break apart to hold the car set in place. The bad news is the directions are terrible and it's very difficult to tell from the pictures what you should be pressing/pulling on or attaching items to. The good news is approximately 70% of the work is done for you!
This travel system is made up of a stroller and an infant car seat with base. The seat can be removed from the base and used as a carrier. The seat can also be installed on the stroller. The color of this product is an attractive intense red with black trim so it is suitable for either a girl or boy and looks sleek. The fabric is a nice heavy weight canvas which can easily be cleaned and has plentiful padding. Both the stroller and car seat have stylish canopies. There are several things I do not like about this product and instruction manual. The manual is written in English and French. There are no instructions in Spanish. The product is heavy. The car seat with the base attached is almost 14 pounds. The base is secured to the car's seat belt restraint system. The seat does disconnect as a baby carrier but transferring the car seat from vehicle to vehicle is a heavy job. Also if the baby is in the car seat carrier it can't be attached to the stroller safely as the stroller is on wheels and of course rolls. The baby would have to be removed first which would be problematic if you were by yourself as to where would you place the baby while installing the seat. When the infant seat is connected to the stroller it is somewhat unstable and top heavy which concerns me. Also worrying me is the strap system attached to the back of the set of the stroller which adjusts the position of the seat. It just dangles loose behind the baby and is a potential strangling hazard around other children. The largest complaint I have for the system is the limited time for it's use does not justify it's price. The infant car seat portion can only be used for a baby up to 22 pounds. The baby will outgrow this car seat within a years time. This leaves the stroller as the only portion of the system still usable which holds up to 50 pds. The stroller portion in my opinion is not worth the premium price as it's a basic type stroller. It is similar to an inexpensive umbrella stroller and does not include a tray. I've always found the tray to be an invaluable asset to hold toys, cups, food etc to keep the baby engaged.
