Picture quality is fantastic!
Delivery was several weeks late, but the P65Q9-J01 tv worked fine on startup. 30 days in - the picture is great with all connections except cable (aspect ratio/picture mode), but haven't tried too hard to resolve that. Haven't tried antenna yet. The smartcast menu has frozen up a few times - frustrating but not a deal breaker, yet. The smartcast/streaming functions are really good and there's a LOT of stuff available. The smartcast app icons can be arranged for easier access to your preferred streaming channels. This next part of the review is subjective (and a-n-a-l) but it is what it is. It seems trivial, but the remote is tedious, and you never realize what an important part of the experience it is, until you want another tv for no other reason than to flip between certain channels. This model has minimal buttons and takes time to cursor around the on-screen menu to move between specific channels, info, menu, etc. So no jumping back and forth between two channels - the ‘back' button ain't that - you may miss that play. No, I do not use voice control. So, I download the remote app to my phone - better. Then notice the little remote icon on the app, and there it is - the remote I want to make my tv watching effortless. The all important one touch ‘previous', ‘info', ‘menu', and a numeric pad for quick, manual punch in. But I don't want to unlock and use my phone to operate a tv at home (I know, Waah). So back online and the remote simulated on the app is available - for $20. 🙄 I'm just thankful this is all I have to complain about today. Life is good, and I gotta go watch my big tv.
SCREEN IS CRACKED
TV arrived damaged!
This item was delivered to me completely cracked and destroyed I'm so upset.
item arrived with a hole in the box. fedex wouldn't let me refuse the delivery. tv screen was broken once i opened the box. do not order a tv from walmart!
Ordered tv, received it with cracked screen. Had Sams Club exchange it and waited for a new one to arrive. 2nd tv arrived with even more damage than the first. Returned tv and still waiting on refund.
These smart cast tv's are really frustrating. It regularly glitches out while watching tv it will buffer over and over (my other tv's don't do this so it's not my internet), even after you setup your app order, it moves them around once a week or so, putting an app you don't use up front so you'll give it a try. The Sling app won't allow you to pause live TV, although Roku apps will let you pause live Sling TV. I also use a Bose sound bar and after I've already scrolled down to the app I want to watch, it throws me into an advertisement to download the Bose Music app. I have to back out of the advertisement and scroll back through the rows of flashing advertisements to get back to the app I was just selecting…ughh… it's just really user un-friendly and frustrating to use …I just want to watch tv on select apps with no extra apps or advertisements and to have a steady stream that doesn't buffer regularly.
I am pretty sure it's a good TV, but I bought it twice and every time it came with the screen cracked. It's a very big and heavy TV and looks like it's not handled properly by Walmart or FedEx personnel
I wanted this TV, but it got delivered to me damaged. Had a big crack in the screen. Apparently I'm not the only one. I opted for a Hisense instead.
