I bought this to trim some branches that were skimming the top of our porch, and it did the job without being dangerous to use. Our porch is on the second story, and my husband was able to reach the branches from the edge of the porch without a ladder due to the nice 15 feet reach. Sun Joe electric pole chain saw worked well for me trimming down medium tree in the fall. Used it also to trim the length of the branches to fit the bin (or your WM/Rep/ will refuse pick up the bin or charge additional.
Overall product works awesome! Chain blade did lose it's sharpness quickly, but I purchased a set of new chain blades and they are easy to install. Great product.
While others in our gated community were spending hundreds getting the overgrowth and tree branches trimmed from the trees at the back of the lot, we bought this electric pole saw and did the job in about 4 hours. And, the end result is much nicer than the shredded branches the commercial machine left, and doesn't look like a scalp job. Oh, and with a little planning, you can cut branches over 8" in diameter! Thanks for the great tool, Sun Joe and Walmart, we will be using it for many years to come!
This pole chain saw is better than ever. No kickback, telescopes, adjustable angle for cutting. I'm a 71 yr old woman and I love using my Sun Joe pole saw. I find that the adjustable chain angle is the best help for me.
Performs very well, easy to maintain. I'm 72 and am able to use it, but don't use it like I used it. I did most of my work on an eight foot step ladder which is not recommended by the manufacturer but I didn't have any problems except getting a little arm weary. The saw isn't that heavy but when you extend it fully it sure feels heavier then eight pounds. I did all of my sawing with the saw straight not bent. I would rest the saw on the branch to be cut to take the weight off of my arms, then elevate the saw an inch or so, start it up, then down to cut.
we got this because we figured hey better than a hand pole saw. was pleasantly surprised we did some large branches and the pivoting head made quick work. very happy with purchase.
Very good pole saw, within two year warranty period drive gear stripped. Contacted SunJoe to obtain new gear however internal parts not available. Called on a Friday and by the following day had a brand new replacement complete Pole Saw in hand!! Incredible service standing behind their product. Returned the damaged unit to Snow Joe with a return label provided at no cost to me. The following week bought another SunJoe Pole saw for my other property. Very easy to use and does a great job reaching up high to trim branches without having to use ladders and chain saw....a great safety factor.
It does work, kind of, but cannot cut tree limbs at all. It acts like the dullest chain saw you can imagine. It more scratches limbs than cuts them, even small limbs that a tree lopper could cut are difficult for this. Its more of an electric tree clipper.
Too heavy to lift it up beyond elbows level. The box/container that holds the saw beat-up badly like dropped thrown down, nasty, dirty, ripped opened and patched with clear tape. It came from Walmart warehouse, someone in such dept. that prepared this saw to sent out to the FedEx shouldn't have such job. He or She done the damaged to Walmart reputations. The stressed on this purchased alone with many problems lasted over 3 plus months to the point that I just had to let it go, then the chain stuck unable to pull it out to replace a new chain. I also tried to call SunJoe Customer services twice only to been Lied to, big lied without a drop of solution not even a confirm email. those 2 female customer services' accents as from the Phillipines. This was my very first tool SJ brand. Some nasty stressed experienced. Pardon my English which is my 3rd languages.
