Product design matters! This shaker actually works better than anything else I've used (apart from an electric blender). Leak proof confirmed and it keeps my pre cold driving in 100+ degree southwest heat. Love it
This was the only model (of any brand) that I could find to meet all my criteria for drinking water on the go: - Wide lid so I can fit my hand in for cleaning - No flavor imparted by the cup - Handle wide enough to fit 2+ fingers - Wide drinking mouth with no freakin' straw (I find bottles with plastic straws tend to grow stuff in the creases of the silicone straw adapters. No thank you!) - While I don't generally care about temperature preservation, the double wall is great for times when I accidentally leave my water in a hot car - The purple color makes it easy to find around the house out on a camping trip (I don't (yet?) do smoothies, so can't comment on the frother insert.)
These are affordable stainless steel shakers, that work great and are better for your health. They are easy to clean and don't smell over time. Very happy with my purchase.
I first bought their 32oz water bottles (two cuz I drink a lot of water at work). I have always had the same problem; the water is always warm by mid-morning. And I have tried a ton of other water bottles, even adding extra ice or putting ice packs around them... Nothing else worked. Then I found these in a store and was SHOCKED with how insanely well they work! Best example is this; I fill them with some ice and water at about 7pm and then by 4pm the next DAY they still always have some ice left.... that is INSANE! Well I realized that I love having my protein shakes in the morning for breakfast but by the time I can finally drink them, they are always cold. So on a whim I checked the Takeya website to see if they had their own version of a shaker bottle, and to my surprise they do! I got two just to be safe and I could not be more thrilled with this purchase! They work SO well! I put just the bottle part in the fridge overnight, and that way by the time I put my shake in there, it is freezing cold and doesn't warm up till long after I am finished drinking it. I will say that the coldness of it does not last as long as the water bottles (for whatever reason), but it lasts long enough for me! It even kind of freezes it up a little so that when you get to drinking it (if you blended it with ice), there is a ton of icy goodness at the top to drink and makes it feel more like you're drinking a frappucino! I cannot recommend this brand enough. It has saved me a great deal of time and effort. Makes my life so much easier. I would buy this again and again if I had to, but because they make it so well, I don't think I will HAVE to! And THAT is a quality brand!
I love Takeya products. I own 6 of them. I love the fact that I can use them with a straw or as a shaker.
I've been making yogurt and chocolate milk smoothies, liquid diet due to jaw surgery and not allowed to use a straw. This shaker is awesome for mixing the two together so I can literally drink my yogurt.
I bought this shaker yesterday and used it with no problem for cold Gatorade for a sick child. When my child wanted a can of soup i simply put the condensed soup in the shaker added a can of milk shook it and then poured it into a bowl and warmed it in the microwave. It saved me a whole sink full of dirty dishes and the rounded bottom made it so easy to clean.
I am pleased with the product as far as it keeping it cold. However, the rubber ring in the cap to open and close the mouthpiece and the rubber ring inside the That closes on the cup is not very sanitary. Because it gets particles up in there From the protein powder and once you remove those to clean it, they do not go in tightly and end up leaking. I find that very frustrating especially when I am leaving the house and I've got to go somewhere and I'm drinking a protein drink and I think I've got everything put back together correctly, and I go to take a mouthful and it leaks all over me because the rubber fittings do not fit back in there, as well as when it was first purchased and I've only remove them twice to clean them. Very disappointing that.
I normally love all the Takeya water bottles and their easy matching lids, but this shaker bottle leaks like crazy not only when you are shaking it with the lid closed tight and screw top closed, but when I take a sip, it drips down my face and shirt. Don't know if it has a defective seal ring, but I can't use it without getting everything wet.
