I bought this in November and we love it. The picture quality is simply fantastic, I also like the streaming factor.
Sony has finally returned to the top of their game. This TV replaced a 17 year old Sony Plasma TV that I was reluctant to part with because the picture was so good. I have I a very good Sony TV in my vacation home, but this is totally over the top. It is truly a smart TV. OLED is the only way to go and Sony uses this technology better than anyone, including the company that invented it.
I absolutely love my A9G OLED, which I have hooked up to my gaming PC. There are a couple of things you need to know, as when you first buy the TV and plug it into your 3090 or 4090 GPU, you just get garbage on the screen. I was so scared by this, I nearly took the TV back, but you have to enable the enhanced HDMI features for it to work. Once I did this everything was fine and the picture is stunning. The only other issue which I would like to report and the issue is well documented on Google, is if you are using the TV speakers for sound through the HDMI port fo the GPU, after 30 minutes the sound stops coming out of the speakers. You can fix this by turning on and off VRR mode using the "123" button on the remote. This problem used to drive me mad, as it was clearly a memory leak as the issue always occurs after the same amount of time on the TV, regardless of what the PC is doing. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE SONY! But other than that I still give the TV 5 stars for image quality and it's perfect as a large PC monitor for work or gaming which are both great at UHD @120Hz. I also love the way the controller glows in the dark.
We've had this TV for several years and it has a spectacular picture. Makes you feel like people are in the room with you.
This is the sickest tv I've ever seen nethermind owned it's tip top in every department so no need to list everything haven't found anything to moan about!!! Ok maybe one but it's extremely minor..the google assistant bright orange light next to comfortable white bar of tv on I sun needed it is easy to view out of corner of eye and kind of puts me off using the assistant,,but hey you don't really need it on unless you like talking to yourself…!!!
I wanted a TV with great black levels as not having them has always been a shortcoming of most backlit TV's. This is where the Sony shines. The overall picture quality is great. I was not concerned about the sound quality as I use my stereo system for this. The only minor item I find annoying is that the TV should display the signal strength of broadcast TV stations in the information screen when changing channels. In order to check the signal strength you have to do 6 remote control clicks from the HELP menu. But fortunately you don't need to do this often. Overall I'm very happy with the TV although now I wish it had a 4K capable tuner (e.g., ATSC 3.0).
I couldn't be happier with my purchase if this 77 inch Sony OLED. It's unquestionably the greatest video processing machine in the world. Having come over from my 3.5 year old LG OLED the experience of this Tv leaves me breathless. It's simply stunning. The rendering of 4K in Dolby Vision is beyond stunning. And I must say I am very impressed with the degree of support I've received the few times I've needed to call Sony support. My only criticism relates to the remote, that, while substantial enough , should, at this price point be backlit. Otherwise, this latest from Sony is worth every bit of its premium price. I highly recommend this Tv.
I bought this about two months ago and I am disappointed so far. Even with max brightness, the TV is not bright enough to watch during the day time in a well lit family room. I upgraded from Sony X850G series 75" LED TV. I used to watch TV without closing my curtains before. Now, I no longer able to do so. In a dark room, or during evenings the picture looks stunning though. I'm having difficulty only during the day time.
A must have beautiful picture. Took off one star for two reason doesn't tell you your watching HDR or Dolby Vision you have to dig into the settings to find out its on and the lack of an HDMI 2.1 for a TV this price it should be displayed under the information tab and the lack of HDMI 2.1 meaning this TV is already outdated when the PS5 comes out. Over then that it serves as the centerpiece of my home theater and well worth the money. 5.2 Current system: Sony 77” A9G Denon X8500H Panasonic 820 UHD player XBone S PS4 Pro SVS Ultra Center Prime Pinnacle's Towers Ultra Surrounds and 2 PC4000 Panamax 5300 and Brickwall Surge AQ Cinnamon HDMI's Monoprice 12/2 Speaker wire 3 dedicated 20amp outlets Room is 20x25x20 Will be adding two rear ultra surrounds and 6 prime elevations mini 2x4HD another PC4000 Monoprice 7x200 amp giving me a 7.3.6 and GIK room treatment
