I would recommend this tool for medium or light snow. It can throw snow high and far. Used in a blizzard condition , worked well.
This tool is great for shoveling decks and walkways. So easy to use!! Love it!
Was skeptical of this little blower. I have a 1,000 square foot deck that is only accessible by 35 steps. I was using a gas powered 2 stage blower (120 lbs) and lugging it up and down the stairs. Being mostly plastic, I wasn't expecting much, but I was wrong. I took on 3+ feet of Sierra Snow and it held its own. I did a “layer” (12” down from the top) at a time and was shocked at how quickly the deck was cleared. It is heavier than a shovel, not an issue if snow is less than 10-12” as it can just slide of the surface being cleared. Deeper snow requires lifting (essentially same as a big transfer shovel). Tried it on the berm from the plows and it just chopped right through. Defiantly recommend a 2nd battery for large areas. Keep an eye out where it's blowing, as it reliably throws 20-30 feet with no issue.
This thing really moves snow. Two days after it arrived, we got 11 inches of snow. The snow was heavy, and a bit crusty, because early snowfall was wet, and temperatures dropped to the teens. The blower moved the snow without hesitation. A couple times I had to do two passes, but most of it worked with one. Hoping for another snow event before the end of the season. Did I mention I love snow.
Haven't had a chance to use it yet in snow (got it a month ago) but I hope it's worth the wait. I think it will make my early morning winter chores go by a heck of a lot faster. A little heavy, but if it eases the burden of shoveling on my back that's a good thing.
Went thru a a foot of deep wet snow with no issues at all. And the throw distance is outstanding!!!
I've only used this on a fairly light snow so far, but that was why I got it. I have a nice big gas snow blower for the big storms, but I bought this when I need more than a shovel and less than a behemoth. It worked great. It doesn't seem to have problems throwing the snow. It is a little bit heavy, and the moveable handle really wont move up far enough to help much. I'm thinking of getting a trimmer harness or putting a shoulder strap of some kind on it to help out a little bit. The only other thing I worry about is how long the plastic will last. The impeller hit a small piece of the sidewalk and wore down a bit. No big deal. After 1 use, it seems ok. There is a plastic plate/scraper on the bottom that seems built to wear out and be replaced. That isn't an issue, but I don't see the replacement part anywhere (or a replacement impeller). Basically, this is a great little machine for the cost of 4+ snow shovels!
I'm 67 and in fairly good shape but do not do any strength training; consequently, this thing is HEAVY ! The problem is if you're surfaces aren't without seams or bumps; one must repeatedly pick up the shovel ( the total weight is about 20 lbs) to shift it over the bump. It does a great job but the workout is brutal with nonstop lifting and pushing for 30 minutes (until the battery died.) I am going to lift weights to get stronger and enable me to operate this shovel without getting very sore arm muscles. :)
I purchase the shovel early before the snow comes. I haven't used the shovel yet but once I did I'll be happy to post a reveiw regarding shovel and how the tool is working.
I like the item, however the shovel is heavy, and isn't useful for people with arm/back/walking/breathing difficulties like myself. I'd look for a lighter shovel, however, the lighter the shovel the less snow the shovel can handle. Unfortunately, my area takes on a great amount of snow.
