I had something like this when I was a kid and it was so much fun. I was so happy receiving this and unboxing it. My husband downloaded a trial game and set everything up for the kids to give it a try. It's just as much fun as I remember. Although we didn't have the right type of table to attach it to we figured out a way to secure it for use. Everything from the steering wheel to the gas and brakes have such a real life feel. It's made very well and very sturdy. I'd definitely recommend making this purchase if you're considering it.
Super happy with the Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel. Keeping it simple. Had a Fanatec CSL. To many settings and it wasn't fun to use. The Thrustmaster, plug and play. It's great for being a base wheel. I am have faster lap times now. Maybe it the pedals. People complain about them. With a little TLC. They are great. Cheap 98¢ flip flop and super glue. Awesome mod. Pics show mod.
The Thrustmaster Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Spider Edition for Xbox One is an awesome addition to an Xbox One. My daughter loves playing her Xbox, but this Ferrari racing wheel makes it so much more entertaining and gives racing games a real life feel. When playing and using this wheel as well as the gas pedals it feels as though you are really racing down tracks and it is so much easier to keep your car going in the direction you want to go while getting that real life racing feel of pressing the gas and steering the car. This would make an incredible Christmas, birthday, or holiday gift for ages 8 and up to all adults. I definitely recommend this racing wheel to anyone who owns or is intending to purchase an Xbox. The quality is great, the Ferrari look is just so cool, colorful, and feels like sitting behind the wheel of an actual Ferrari! The price point definitely reflects the great quality and durability of this racing wheel. If you don't have one you are missing out so get your card out and get to ordering yours!
I bought this Ferrari racing set for my sons 10th birthday. I'm just gonna say he came out and told me it was the best gift I've ever bought him. This is fun for the entire family! Set up was very simple! 5 minutes after opening it was set up and ready to go! As always I was extremely satisfied with the arrival of my package! I give both 5 stars!
Xbox Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing wheel is an awesome addition to your Xbox one. If your kids and big adults love racing then this is a must. Open box to find steering wheel and pedals with a clap to secure it. Love the way its setup even for a 50yr as myself to understand. Its like a big xbox controller. Lets begin with quality is which is excellent in my opinion cause i have a 5yr thats always getting himself in trouble Lol. Especially how secure it is with a clap that's provided. Setup was so simple less than 10 seconds. Steering wheel feels like the real thing with its tough rubber handles for gripping. From buttons to shifters everything feel sturdy and quality. We tried it with several racing games and it has excellent response time when turning. Pedals are awesome and can take a pounding. Only issue is that depending on type of floor it may slide while pressing pedals but with a rubber mat should solve that problem. Definitely recommended..
This review has come from my boys: older kids and younger kids. They first noticed there wasn't a shift stick (which was a disappointment to the older kids). You shift gears behind the steering wheel. They liked the feel of the pedals- they are not loose and it feels more real than they expected. My bigger kids said there was a learning curve when using the steering wheel and the pedals as compared to actually using the hand-held controllers, but they enjoyed playing together and did so until well past midnight (which they had not done in years!). The younger kids who had never played the racing games with hand-held controllers caught on really fast! We made the whole set-up work by attaching the steering wheel to a TV tray. It wouldn't attach to our coffee table well. The main negative thing about this is that the cord is too short. It's only five feet long. Our TV is mounted to the wall over the fireplace so they had to sit right under the TV, close enough so the cord didn't pull too tight. If there was a longer cord, this would be five stars. Other than the short cord, it's a solid four stars.
Ok. So, I'm in no way a gaming expert. I'm definitely in the beginner or “noob” category. I found the thrust master racing wheel to be pretty cool. It's a nice quality 11” wheel, with rubber grippers. It requires a place to mount, either a table or a stand ( they sell those separately) and then the pedals plug into the wheel. I had a little trouble getting used to the wheel sensitivity, but it's adjustable.. so not a deal breaker. It was a little tricky using the gear shifters, but that's due to where I place my hands on the wheel.. again, not a deal breaker. There are also nine replica action buttons, a Manettino, an ENGINE START D-Pad, and an Xbox Guide button. I found set up to be pretty easy and haven't had any issues, other than me just needing to get used to a new gaming accessory. I'm sure there are nicer wheels out there, but for the $, this racing wheel is pretty great. It definitely creates a higher level of game immersion...plus, it looks really cool.
My 13-year-old usually plays Forza with his Xbox One controller so he was excited to try out the steering wheel controller. It wasn't difficult to assemble. The wheel has a clamp that attaches to a table and the gas and brake pedals sit on the floor underneath the steering wheel, The steering attaches perfectly and is very sturdy once attached properly. The pedals have a rubbery grip on the bottom that should help to keep it in place. We sat the foot pedals on the bottom shelf of a side table we used. The experience feels like a real car as far as acceleration, turns and braking. My son's feet fit on the pedals fine but my boyfriend who is 6'1” felt a little snug. And we'll have to figure out a way to make the pedals more secure so they don't move around. I took off a star because of the adjustments that need to be made before playing and that the pedals will have to be glued or tied down to something in order to hold it in place. The overall experience is like the real deal!
I got this so my 14 and 16 year old boys could use it. Honestly it has a great feel, but it doesn't always work with the games. There is a lag between the game and the wheel. We don't have that problem with of our other gaming equipment, so I'm not sure what is wrong. Also, it would be nice if there was an easier way for the pedals to not move. There needs to be a weight or something underneath it, to make it not move so much. I think you lose fun of the game bc you are trying to focus on your feet not coming off the pedals because it is slipping across the floor.
I thought this was a pretty cool steering wheel, feels nice, looks nice, but it is a bit of a pain to get up and working. The wheel needs to clamp to a table, but the clamp wouldn't go wide enough for anything but a tv tray I had, and the steering wheel is heavy enough the tv tray wanted to tip over. I solved this by weighing the bottom tv tray support. The petals slipped a little on my hardwood floors, but I was able to play still with out much movement. Out of the 6 driving games I owned, only 1 played with this steering wheel. It was a pretty fun experience, even the kids had a blast! Set up was straight forward, but you really need to push that plug in, I had to have the husband help me.
