Chair is very nice,but the Ottoman is not level with the chair making it uncomfortable to sit. I HAD TO LINE CHAIR WITH A CUSHION IN ORDER TO SIT. I USE THIS CHAIR IN MY OFFICE. I WILL PUT IT IN A SITTING ROOM AND RETURN MY ORIGINAL RECLINER TO MY OFFICE. I THINK THAT A YOUNGER PERSON WILL BE MORE COMFORTABLE SITTING. BASICALLY THE CHAIR IS A NICE PIECE OF FURNITURE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS. I SUGGESTS THAT THE OTTOMAN BE EVEN WITH THE CHAIR TO MAKE IT MORE COMFORTABLE
I purchased this chair set for my sister, she is alright with it but has issue with the chair leaning back too much, it will need to be adjusted for a bad back.
The chair us super comfortable and fits exactly where I wanted it. Unfortunately it has Knicks and the finish isn't the best. There are a few mars on the arms straight out of the box. It was super easy to put together and seems very sturdy. It is a true mission chair and but for the poor finish it would be perfect.
the fram work on this chair is very good, but the seats are cheap. i will have to have them made so its more comfortable. overall a great deal.
I liked the chair when I saw it online. We had fun putting it together. I think someone forgot to put in the L brackets though. Not sure if they were included but there was a paper for the installation of the L bracket.
This Walmart.com product we are reviewing is the Victory Land Group Mission Leisure Chair with Ottoman Stock #05-2622-1. We needed four sturdy armchairs for our living room and after reading the other product reviews for this chair where customers complained about poor workmanship and/or missing parts, we thought it might be prudent to order one extra chair 'just in case' and then return it to the store afterwards. Boy are we glad we did! First, the good news: You will not find a better Mission-style "Morris" chair value anywhere for under $200. We compared this unit with three comparable models from K-Mart, Menards and Cost Plus World Market and this unit easily beat out the competition hands down. The Walmart chair definitely had the most bang-for-the-buck. Now, the bad news: Good thing we purchased one extra chair. There were (minor) manufacturing flaws with every single unit. There was visible damage to the outside of one of the shipping cartons and upon further examination revealed one of the right side frame assemblies had completely sheared off and so consequently arrived damaged beyond repair. Other minor flaws included one upholstery button popped out of one of the back cushions, the velcro closures came unravelled (sp?) in one of the seat cushions, and several of the long- and short-wood dowels that are used to adjust the incline had tips that were sheared off. Additionally, the red oak stain - that is so characteristic of Mission-style furniture - was not applied evenly, there were entire sections that were missing stain and one right frame assembly had unsightly blotches of stain spilled right on the end of the arm rest and nobody even bothered to wipe it off before it permanantly set in. So we used the total number of parts from the five flawed chairs to make four acceptable units and returned the damaged goods to the store for a full refund. The Customer Service staff completed the transaction with no problem. In summary: You are not going to find an authentic Gustav Stickley Mission-style Morris chair for under $200. But if all you are looking for is a comfortable chair that is easy to assemble and is particularly sturdy (especially suitable for heavy-set people), we wholeheartedly recommend this product.
the chairs-- yes chairs, they are not recliners they have three pins made of wood on the back that make you adjust the the backs to go three positions. the wood is made well the cushions are poor quality. they are easy to assemble
The seat is so long that it is hard to reach the back ( I am not tall ) The seat cushion is not comfortable enough, it is so thin and it sag that you can feel the spring under. The wood is fine and the instruction is easy to follow The back cushion is fine.
This is a good chair for those of us that are fixer uppers. The wood finish needs help, The cushions are worthless and I am having new ones made. With this said where can you can a chair at this price?
Apeg bkoke holding it together. I had to substitute a plastic pen that isn't very good. The price was good which is what got me to buy it. the hidden quality flaw was a surprise. using poor quality wood dowels at a place that needed a strong dowel just pointed out what you get for a cheep price.
