Great fit and so comfortable!
I exclusively wear, and own, white over the calf tube socks. Doesn’t matter what outfit I am wearing, where I am going that day or what I am doing that day. If I am not taking a shower or physically in the water at a beach or swimming pool I have a pair on, and pulled up to my knees. Hanes is one of only three big brands that have consistently made white over the calf tube socks over the years, and I have always been a huge fan of the various styles. These socks reach my knees with ease and stay there all day, and I am not exactly a short guy at 5’10”. I do not have a problem with holes or tears forming, as I actually take care of my white over the calf tube socks. And I have so many pairs that I never wear a pair out anyway. That is the secret to making any socks last a long time, or forever. Keep a very large supply that you can rotate through properly! These socks look utterly amazing with shorts and sneakers or slides. Don’t let any fashionista tell you otherwise! The only things stopping me from a 5 star review is the fact that they are a tad thin, but nothing bad, and ideally I like my socks to be super long and thus still be hanging off my toes after they hit my knees, so I slightly prefer XL size/Big & Tall/custom-made white over the calf tube socks.
Two pair have been worn and laundered. They came out with little fuzzies all over which I've never experienced in the past. No idea the cause but assume it's simply a lesser quality than I've purchased in the past. They need a lint shaver like is used on sweaters after many wearings.
The socks are comfortable and stay up but are a little thinner than I expected. I expected them to be a little thicker, and after 10 hours of work, so far, two pairs have worn through on my big toe. This does not show much longevity in these socks. I wear composite toe safety boots for 10-12 hours a day. I just hope I dont end up needing new socks in another six months.
Socks don't hold up to long days on my feet. After a few wearing's and washings a hole develops in the heel that grows. This has occurred with all my previous orders of socks as well. I only keep buying these socks because there are very unlimited options for Over the Calf Tube Socks these days and Hanes still sells them. The material used for these socks is very poor and needs to be addressed.
I just bought a package of 12 Tube Over the Calf Socks. Washed them and tried a pair on and they only cover 3/4 of my calf. I wear boots everyday, and I need for my socks to stay up. I can't be stopping every 10 steps to pull up my socks. I am only 6 foot tall, so it isn't like I have extra long legs. The socks won't stay up and then they ball up or gather at the toes making them very uncomfortable.
I bought the over the calf socks in february and they were the perfect sock, unfortunately i just ordered more and the new socks are different. they are much shorter in length and i don't like the design as much either. please bring the old style back so I can continue shopping with Hanes.
I was running low on my last pack of over the calf socks. When I bought a new pack and tried them on they barely made it to mid calf. I thought they were packaged wrong and I donated them and bought a new pack from an actual Hanes store. As you can see in the pictures the new one is clearly shorter than my last new one from my last package. Hanes has either changed the way make them, or have changed what they consider over the calf. My mission today is to find a suitable replacement so I can use these for what their good for! Nothing!!
