Love this gate. I've seen a few different gates. This is one of the best ones out there. I am super happy with this gate. It is very sturdy and well-made. It opens both ways so you can swing the door in or out. It also it's made in such a way so that the gate can stay open without you holding it if you want. The opening and closing mechanism is awesome. It is very easy to open one handed. Very, very satisfied with this gate. in fact I am thinking of purchasing another one before they stopped making them!
The Shipping was Great! One day early! The Gate is a well made product and can be installed in no time! The door has the extra stop at the bottom of Door which prevents my pet from pushing in and warping the door. The top handle and latch operate smoothly as you go in and out! You don't have to fight with it! I would purchase this product again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this on top of the stairs and it's perfect. It gets a lot of use. We had one before but my 7 year old son recently broke it. We immediately bought the same one bc it has been so great for us.
Easy to use, not hard to open, withstands against active dogs jumping against it. I have one from years ago and couldn't find another til this one, an replaced gate that wasn't 6 months old from safety first and that gate was horrible, very difficult to open, needed 2 hands to work the lock/ latch and was difficult. Very happy with this gate now and buying another to have on hand. love that it stays open on own if need, or shuts on own.
I bought this gate to replace an older one of the same style by Summer Infant. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with some new features that are very nice. The new gate opens differently than the old and it would be much harder for little hands to figure out. I'm really looking forward to company coming over and trying to figure it out. I very much love the feature that the door can actually stay open by itself not that I need to prop it open with a jar of pasta sauce anymore. The gate being made of metal makes it very durable and strong. I use my gates for my dogs and they are constantly jumping up against them. The last gate I had lasted 7 years with lots of wear and abuse, the plastic at the hinge setup broke. All in all I have to say that these are of amazing quality, last a long time, and take quite the beating.
This products does what it's supposed to do. At the moment, we are using it to keep our dogs confined to one room at night and when we aren't home. I haven't found that it's anything spectacular but it does the job. I do like the fact that is has a "door" feature but the mechanism that releases/latches the door is a little on the tough side to do one-handed (I do have a 7-month old in my arms quite often). I like that it swings shut but I have to physically latch it as it doesn't do that automatically. It has a nice sturdy build as far as I can tell but for the price, I wish the door was made a little more user friendly.
There are only 2 things I don't like about this gate. 1) its hard to get extra pins for the extensions. 2) the curves at the lower part of the extensions hurt my puppys paw. Since its more narrow, her paw got stuck. Of course she doesn't put her paw there anymore.
We liked our first two from '20 so much that we bought a third when the need arose in '22, directly from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, it looks like the quality has gone down. Brand new out of the box you can see the paint is cracking is several spots, warning stickers are missing pieces, and there are several scuffs. I've included just a few examples in my photo. I'm not sure the high price is still worth it. It is functional.
My two years old kid brake the upper moving joint by shaking it...... Other then that it is goog and the best in the market as I tried all kinds and different brand names
I bought this gate a couple years ago. I only used it when my small grandchildren were here. I was really disappointed when the hinge that holds the gate door onto the gate itself broke. It is made of plastic and doesn't hold up. My daughter liked my gate so she drove an hour away to buy one. It only lasted a month before the same plastic part broke on hers also. They taped it up but it falls apart and won't hold. So they will have to take it back. I can't take mine back as the return window is closed. I am going to try to get in touch with the company and see if they can send me the part so I can at least repair it and try again.
