works perfectly.... I haven't tried multiple connections/devices yet but it works like a charm with my netbook. My son is in online school and he watches his classes etc with no problems. We are very happy with this and the cost of the service (unlimited $40 a month) and this device was cheaper by $30 compared to anywhere else.

For my use, I opt'ed for the Walmart special price of $20 month. I like that I don't have to pay but for the months I need it. I understand that if I don't use it for a year, I may loose my account but that won't happen here. Once I had to re-register the device with the help of what seemed to be a US tech person. Could be faster for $50 a month, but not needed by me for the times I would otherwise be without. As a cell phone user 36 years, current user of BB data phone, non3G ipad, net book, mac tower, it meets my expectations. We used it in Orlando where the timeshare only gave one computer a free logon and my wife uses it weekly when visiting the nursing home to stay connected. ... anywhere there's a signal (? T-mobile?) It's already begun to pay for itself.

I have the Virgin Mobile Broadband2go USB stick. I didn't expect much from this product but I purchased it because it might enable to access internet in my area (way out in the country) where only dialup is available. When I checked the coverage area online it showed my area had excellent data coverage so I installed the device, payed for unlimited and now I am amazed. I am able to play facebook games such as Farmville and Cafe World. The apps low a little bit more slowly than my friends cable connection but not by much. Once I am in the application (such as Farmville) I am usually able to move more quickly between farms/gifts/actions than with cable. Some things on some websites move a little bit more slowly but again, not by much. If you want to try this, buy the stick version if you don't need to connect multiple devices....it's less expensive. If you buy the mifi version be warned that connection will slow the more devices you connect. Also, if you buy a top up card and then decide you don't want to keep the device, you cannot get a refund on the card, just on the usb or mifi device itself.

I know that everyone has their opinions about prepaid, but Ive done both the monthly and the prepaid and so far I love the prepaid. I decided that I would wait a month before I gave my opinion on the Virgin Mobile mifi. I wanted to give it a good test run and make sure that I gave it every opportunity to do the job that it was intended to do. Well, it has done just that. It has impressed me far beyond what I had thought that it would just because of the reviews that I had read prior to the purchase. My family and I purchased the 2200 mifi a month ago exactly and decided that we would take it to Florida with us, so we could entertain the children with our tablets and the oldest could use his ipod touch if need be. It worked like a charm. 12 hours later we were in florida and our family that we stayed with had verizon wireless usb internet. They live so far out that this is the only way they can get internet. It was horrible. So we turned on our mifi and b.i.n.g.o...they had awesome internet. I couldn't believe it. Verizon is suppose to be so great. We use so many devices at the same time. Ive used it on my playstation 3, nintendo wii, netflix through the wii and on 3 tablets, cell phone updates, my desktop that is wifi and our ipods, (both of them). So now I am through. I give two thumbs up, (and would give more if I had more), for now. If this product should change over time I will update my obsevations. Dont give this a second thought...go get it!

3g and that's what you get

My choice was between verizon with 4g and virgin mobile 3g. I went for the cheapier option in virgin mobile because lets be honest who wants to pay 50 bucks a month for 2 gb of usage on verizon? If thats the case I'll just go get comcast internet lol...So I get this Mifi 2200 and it's very inconsistent. I have download speeds as slow as 31 kbps and as high as 300 kbps. (tested on testmy.net) When it's running at 31 you will be throwing things around the house because yes, that's slower than dial-up. I'm really thinking of returning the device, because it runs slower more often than it does faster. But I did find one pro to this device. If you own a laptop you still can access the internet when your power goes out. Sad to say, that's the only pro I can find. The short, it runs on sprint 3g so speeds arent going to be great, but when you start going slower than dial-up you wonder why you pay 150 bucks for the thing.

It Works...Kinda...

I bought this device despite reading a number of the terrible reviews. I work in IT, and went in not expecting much (it was for my kid's room, so I didn't need anything heavy duty). Here's the bottom line from someone who connects people to the internet for a living: It's OK....but if you have the $$$ - buy something else. Here's why: If you're not an net-savvy person, connecting this thing is really next to impossible. I had to call tech support for help (I'll say again - I do this stuff for a living and had to call; it's stupid complicated). If you're getting this for someone older than, say, 20 years old...skip it. Once connected, it works great. Honestly, it's an impressive little device (and I mean LITTLE - this thing is TINY). This depends, of course, on how plugged in you are to the Sprint network. Before you buy: check this out via sprint.com because these devices work courtesy of Sprint. It didn't work out for me, though. Once you hit 5Gig (we bought the "unlimited" plan), it's useless beyond simple tasks like checking email, etc. Netflix? Yep; it will work for a while. Same with YouTube...but once you hit the threshold - Virgin/Sprint throttles you down and it's impossible. That's to be said for all wireless networks, though...not just Virgin. My kids "need" the Netflix and YouTube, though, so...on to something else... Comparing this to Verizon's mobile unit, though, I'd say that this is actually better. Seriously; at least in my area. Again, check for yourself via the provider's website. It really depends on what you need it for. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

Network is down a lot - no customer service

When it works it is great. Faster than 3G. Problem is that the network is down A LOT. When it comes back up you have to reprogram the device. There is no customer service except thru a phone number answered in India. I have held on the line for hours. The number is answered with a loud blaring sound and then "Alex" the voice gives you only billing and tech support options. Virgin Mobile did replace mine when it quit working after 2 months, but they could never get the new one to work for me. I finally tinkered with the old one and got it to work. I returned the new one. Now they are after me because they can't find where I returned it. There is no one to talk to about it except "tech support" and you can only get to them after "Alex" makes you walk thru 7 steps and dialing "1" after each step to "reactivate" your MiFi and you hold for a minimum of 1 hour. I have tried calling at all hours and Alex always tells me that they are busier than usual. I saved a little on the montly rate compared to the ATT wireless card but the network is down almost every time I need it on the road. I have been forced to do major networking on the microscopic iPhone screen. Dont waste your money or you will end up also wasting your time. P.S. you may be able to use it on up to 5 devices but more than 2 really slows it down. AND unlimited use is really 5 MG.

Stay away from this company !!

The only thing that's worse than the functioning of this broadband wifi router is the service provided by Virgin Mobile. I am in a fairly large city, with generally good coverage by Sprint (and the other telecoms here) but the speeds of this unit are HORRIBLE. Not only in one or two places in San Diego but I've tried it in various locations and it's always the same. I have used other mobile2go devices like the MiFi 2200 (same equipment) of Verizon and it's ten times faster. With the VirginMobile 2200 I get about 100 to 200 Kbps, which is one tenth to one twentyth of their advertised speed. But the tech support from this company?? it's even worse. Out of four emails to tech support, I received an answer to only one, and it was useless. My phone call to tech support was also TOTALLY useless and after 45 minutes I gave up & asked for a supervisor, who never did appear. I think this company and its tech support personnel are WAY over their heads.
