I had seen this at a home improvement store for much more and had procrastinated because of the price. Then I found it on the Walmart website and immediately ordered it. I am so glad I did. It is so handy and easy to use. I don't have to dig through my trash pulling out the recyclables anymore because everyone now wants to use the recycle bin. It sits in my kitchen and is much more attractive than my regular waste basket.
I have been recycling buy storing bottles and cans in plastic grocery bags for at least a year! Now it is soooo easy and fun, even my boyfriend who I always caught throwing things in the trash is now on board! It has easily been my best purchase this year!
We looked for a long time before ordering and it paid off because we love this recycle bin. The only improvement would be to offer 2 or more sizes! We are empty nesters so our volume of recycling has dropped - it took a few weeks to adjust to emptying it more frequently - it holds about 2-3 days of normal living recycling (less when kids are here!). We were skeptical about the battery powered lid but it works like a champ! It's been about 2 months now and we still love it.....yes, if you get too close to the sensor, it will open but it is not that sensitive - you have to be really close! Love the lift-out liner bins, we line one in plastic and the other with a paper bag for papers- so clean & neat, what an improvement to our home! WalMart has the best price anywhere for this model - highly recommend it.
We bought ours on 08/16/10 and it broke on its own on 11/16/10 -the part that broke is the right corner spring thingy- all of a sudden one day *CRACK* it snaps on its own and now the lid wont open Before it broke everyone in the household loved it! It made keeping the kitchen clean while cooking so much easier! Even family & friends who come over love it. Even if the Warranty doesnt replace my broken one, I'm going to get a new one. I just dont understand how it broke?!?! No one touched it, except when taking out the garbage, and its not like we were rough with it!
Really like the itouch feature (reason for buying it) and that its got both trash and recycling. Wish containers would be a lil bigger. Easy to clean easy to maintain.
We were in search of a stainless steel recycle trash can to help me organize the recycling and trash at my house. I found these multible bin cans and decided to give it a try. It looks pretty and durable matching our stainless steel appliances. The two sensor activated lids work very well. We can do cooking without keep washing our hands since the lids of the trash can are handsfree. We love it!
We wanted something to store recyclables that would look clean and nice. This is great! Works well, cleans easy, and is just big enough. It's perfect. It should come with an a/c adapter, but doesn't, so I went and bought one. Well worth it.
Pros: two 8-gallon containers is nicely, nicely identified each container, lid sensor automatic operation. Cons: the lid is made with plastic and is not reinforced in any way [the plastic makes clicking sound when opened like if plastic is going to break], thereby is fragile. Ok if you dont have kids and treat it carefully. It is Ok but it can be improved for durability.
This product helps keep our recycling neat and organized - we use one side for paper and one side for plastic and metal. It's on wheels, so we can move it to any location in the kitchen so it does not get in the way. A good (and bad) feature of the product is that the lid opens automatically when you wave your hand above the lid - it opens on a sensor. However, it is very sensitive and sometimes opens even when you are just walking by!!
I was so excited about this trash can. I loved the idea of a separate recycle compartment, and also the touchless feature. All my friends saw it and thought the same. Well, after only two months, the plastic snapped at both hinges and it is completely useless...trash itself at this point. Would I recommend this product??? Absolutely not. I plan on replacing it with a stainless steel can...plastic just doesn't last!
