Our five year old son suddenly decided he wanted a telescope for Christmas. The price and another review helped me select this one. With less than two weeks before Christmas, I was worried about delivery. Came in less than a week, in a well-packaged box. Easy to set up and use. Comes with several lenses.
I bought this telescope a few days ago. The setup was extrodinarily simple. I had it setup in less than fifteen minutes. The very first night I was able to see the moon's craters clearly. I would suggest this product to the begining astronomer as well as the intermediate astronomer. I believe that the Celestron Powerseeker 60az is a smart investment.
This telescope was the best purchase that I could have made for the holidays. We looked at the moon and it was so clear and magnificent. You could see the craters and mountain ranges so crystal clear, it was better than any pictures that you could have been looking at. You could even see the shadow since it was a half moon. Set-up was easy. The DVD's that came with it are very helpful.
All in all we are very happy with the Telescope. It is a little touchy once you sight in on what you want to see, so you learn to not touch it. But other than that we are very happy and satisfied with it. Very sturdy tripod and get good view once sighted in.
Santa wanted to get our 5yo daughter a decent telescope that could at least visualize the moon. This telescope set up easy, and we located the moon with in 5 minutes on the first time. Quick, easy, and reasonably priced!
While not the top of the line by any measure, this telescope is perfect for someone getting into astronomy with spending a fortune. Images are clear and it's easy to use.
I bought this telescope for my twelve year old science fanatic, and he loves it. The first night he had it, we all went outside and looked at the moon and stars. It was wonderful.
I purchased this as a gift for a 10-year old male...he seems to like it and it works well enough for him to begin exploring the stars!! May not be the best telescope, but for the money I think it's a good introductory product. Worth the investment for a trial. If you have a true astronomer....I'd invest in something of higher quality, but for the average person, a good buy!
for the money, you can't beat it. It came with more than I thought it would. It came with a tripod, so you don't have to buy one. It's a little confusing trying to figure out what lens to use if you are a novice. Overall a vey good telescope and my daughter and I used it around New Years and it was great.
Seems to be well built and easy to assemble and yet solid for a telescope that is very affordable for his first one ever. It is even more powerful than I had expected. Very pleased with the purchase.
