We have 3 kids and one is 20 months so we used this bag to carry his carseat through the airport and onto the plane for him to sit on during the flight. First of all with 3 kids you have so much to carry and you sometimes need to walk quite far to your gate at the airport. This was great, my husband used it as a backpack and used the wheels. We checked on alot of different brand and types of these and the fact that this has both wheels and straps for your back was very nice and that it was the cheapest one out there too. Did site to store and had no problems, I would definately recommend this over tryng to lug a bulky car seat through the airport.
This carseat travel bag worked great on a recent trip. It was reasonably priced compared to other similar products at other stores, it allowed us to check the bag with the airline, and saved the bag from getting damaged during handling. The bag has wheels for pulling the bag, and straps for carrying it as a backpack that are a little uncomfortable (but not terribly so). I would definitely recommend this product for someone looking for a fairly basic, but totally functional car seat cover at a reasonable price.
Since you're reading this, you may be thinking...Will this fit my car seat? I, personally, would have found reviews more helpful if I knew what sorts of seats it fit. My Evenflo - Triumph Advance Convertible Car Seat will not fit in this bag. Fortunately we have a smaller seat to take with us instead, but we were hoping to take the nicer seat. My seat at its widest point is 21-22 inches, I would say something that was 20 inches or less in width would work just fine. My second car seat is a Evenflo - Triumph Advance Convertible Car Seat and fits with room to spare. Other than not fitting larger seats, it seems very durrable and the seams are strong. As someone has mentioned before, the straps are not adjustable, which I doubt will be a huge issue. The wheels seem sturdy and are on a heavy duty platform that hopefully will not crack. I have not used my cover yet, but I have been practicing putting the car seat in and out (as someone suggested to me, to make it quicker at the airport). Hope this helps you in your purchase!
I got this product on the spur of the moment and I am sooooooo glad that I did. Not only did it hold the infant car seat and base but we put a boppy and mirror for the back seat and we still had room for me to bring a set of sheets home that wouldn't fit in my suit case! I loved the fact that my husband could carry it but when I had my daughter in my arms I could roll it when needed. We also liked the idea that when we pulled it out of the bag, we knew her seat was clean and had not been touching everything in the belly of the plane. Highly advisable since this bag will last us till she is out of a car seat. Nice and heavy duty.
Very durable, attractive and well priced product for those who travel with their own car seat. Don't trust rental car seats and assured ours works. Drawback another piece of luggage to drag, but the handles and well placed and weight well distributed. Only challenge with this product is getting the car seat in and out by yourself while holding infant...help is definetly required due to the opening being a bit small and the car seat slightly awkard in size/distribution.
We bought this car seat cover for our recent trip to Hawaii and it worked great! We have a Britax roundabout 50 (large car seat) and it fit perfectly. My daughter used her car seat on the airplane and then we put it in the bag to get it through the airport easily. The wheels work great. Not sure how comfy the shoulder straps would be since they are not padded, but we didn't use them anyway.
This cover fit our Even-Flo car seat very well. By having the option of either rolling or carrying our car seat, we were able to maneuver our luggage much more easily than expected. The zipper pull broke off in transit, yet the zipper was still easy to use. It would be helpful to practice taking your car seat in and out of the cover before you're actually in an airport.
This is a great bag to protect your car seat from airport damage. It is durable and pretty easy to figure out. My only complaint is that it is not at all comfortable to wear on your back. It is bearable to walk from bagage claim to your car, and painful to walk from the gate to your car. But its much easier than trying to carry the car seat without a bag! I like the price (half the price than other bags) so its a keeper for us.
Make sure you check to see if your car seat will work with this. Measure! One of our didn't fit and the other did. after one flight, the corners had holes in it. Made it through the round trip but not sure it can stand another!
I have an Evenflo Symphony convertible carseat and it does not fit in any way, shape or form. It was gaping open and barely stayed on. Unfortunately, we learned this at the airport. After one plane trip, the carrying strap broke off and it was torn in several places, also damaging our carseat. And this was after gate-checking it, which is supposed to be the thing to do to ensure the least damage to your belongings. We even got a large plastic bag from the airline to go over this carrier and it still got all the damage. My sister has an Eddie Bauer carseat and it took them 10 minutes to find a way to make theirs fit and zip up. I highly encourage people to find a different carrier/cover. Thankfully, Walmart accepted ours in a return and we are looking for another.
