Pros: Short throw allows for installatiom flexibility Onboard Android TV Bluetooth capable and allows for screen casting Great onboard sound Great picture quality for way less $$ than 4k 20,000 hour bulb life Cons: Slow continuity for action scenes at larger screen sizes (100"+) Focus toggle is on the unit but the other adjustments are on the remote Does not come with a screen When my projector arrived, I really thought the box was so large because of the packaging material. But nope, the unit was actually much bigger than I expected. After getting the unit out of the box, the quick set up instructions were easy to follow. I had the projector up and running in under 10 minutes. Adjusting the screen ratio was also pretty easy. My only complaint about the picture adjustment is that the focus is on board rather than remote controlled so you either need two people to set it up or do like I did and focus . . . . it, then back up and check your work. I placed the projector in a large sized room with lots of natural light (2 - 60" windows and a French door) and at the factory setting, the picture was more bright than even the brightest setting of my Phillips 75" TV. At the brightest setting, the picture is prestine even at 1080p. The downside to the brightest setting is the fan noise but this was not a factor for me since I left the setting at the factory mid-point and was very satisfied with it. This model did not come with a screen (a downside for this price point) so I paired it with an Elite Screen 120" fixed frame unit. The picture at the full 120" at 16:9 ratio was crisp, clear, and really gave me the movie going experience. The only downside was the fluidity of high speed frames. The focus had a hard time keeping up at this size but this issue was not as noticeable at 85". Final thoughts: For the price point at 1080p, this unit should really come with a screen; even if it's a non-fixed, folding, wrinkle free material. The 1080p resolution is perfectly fine at this size. When I compared this unit to a 4k version of the same product, spending twice as much money to get 4k was really unnecessary and did not make a huge viewing difference. The "ultra" short throw description was a little deceiving because the unit still needs to be on a console that is at least 18" deep just to support the unit. This gave me a viewing screen of about 75". To get to 100" or 120", I needed a 22-23" console or I had to pull the console considerably away from the wall. I also angled the unit up a little which allowed me to put it closer to the wall and still get a good viewing area. This required some stabilizing but meant I did not have to special order or make shift a console. I would happily recommend this product over less expensive competitive brands. This unit produces way less heat and noise and offers a crisp picture. 20,000 hours of bulb life beats having to replace a big screen TV every few years. All in all, a great value for the superb picture and sound. Very sleek since you dont have to have any additional equipment (no firestick, sound bars, etc.). Everything is onbaord!! This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS300 Smart Streaming Laser projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
This replaced my Sony Bravia long throw projector which blew up shortly after buying a new lamp for it. The difference amazed me. I'm not sure of the lumen output of the Sony but we had to turn the lights almost off to get a good picture. We get a perfect picture with the lights on. A breeze to set up too.
This UST projector is everything I could ever ask for!
Easy to set up. No replacing bulbs every 6 months
I bought the projector about a month ago. The picture looks amazing, but the throw was a bit disappointing. I initially was expecting to get a 120 inch picture but was unable to achieve that due to how far back I needed to pull the projector from the wall. No matter how i adjusted/moved my projector it would not yield the result i wanted in screen size.
What can I say other than this projector is awesome! I'll start with the pros. Pros: The setup was extremely easy. There weren't a lot of unnecessary steps and components. You just take it out of the box, put the batteries in the remote, connect the projector to your outlet and power it on. Boom! That easy. The projector is very sturdy but not overly heavy, it definitely travels well if you want to move it throughout your home or wherever you choose to project. Next, the quality. When you hear projector, you probably think about the big clunky piece of junk your grade school teacher would wheel around on the cart right? WRONG! This projector gives my 4K Smart TV a run for its money. The picture is so clear you honestly forget it's a projector. Actually that's not true because the whole time you're looking at it like, “wow! I can't believe this is a projector”. Cons: Not many cons. I just wish Netflix was one of the apps that was already programmed. Also, all of the different buttons on the remote get a bit overwhelming. Overall, highly recommend this product to anyone who is searching for one. This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS300 Smart Streaming Laser projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
The quality of this product is good, so is the fact that is an all in-one-projector. Literally takes minutes to set-up thanks to AndroidTV and the adjustability features. Picture quality if good, considering you can only project 1080P, with little to no motion blurriness. Sound out of the included speaker is pretty good too. Nonetheless, because the projector runs Android you need to be able to keep up with software changes, which the project fails miserably. The projector to date (Feb. 2022) is running an old version of AndroidTV (not GoogleTV) is not compatible with Netflix which will make you resort to using a Roku, FireStick, or GoogleChromecast. Firmware updates are no where to be seen and so is customer support. Lack of ethernet will probably cause problems for those not having strong WiFi signals where they place the projector.
There's no arguing that the unit, from a hardware perspective, is great. The brightness, colors, sound, etc., are great. From a software perspective, this product still runs Android 9.0, there's no firmware updates, and is not on the same software cycles as Android. With this, you will not be able to find certain streaming apps like Netflix, so you will have to rely on an external unit like Roku...
I just purchased this a couple of days ago..very difficult to set up remote. Takes about 10 tries before remote gets connected.. None of the apps are working. Instructions suck. There's no real manual just some big pieces of papers without any clear instructions. The Picture quality is nice but it's not as close as they say. About 3 to four feet back and has to be pretty low to the ground to get the 120 inches, unless your wall is super high. The built-in sound bar is pretty nice and has bass.
I really loved the projector but for reason I got the defective piece, either the lens is bent on the top right corner or something is getting in the way from the device.
