They have changed the formulation and perfume. I had an older fresh bar of soap that did not smell like laundry detergent, this soap does.
I recently bought the multi-pack of Dial Soap, and noticed that it's now even THINNER in the middle than it has ever been. NOW it only lasts a week (using it only on myself) before it gets so thin in the middle of the bar that it breaks in half. I LOVE the smell of the soap and how I feel when I get out of the shower, but unfortunately have to discontinue buying Dial Soap since it breaks in half so easily. I tolerated the first time when the Henkel Corporation made Dial Soap thinner in the middle (easier to hold?). After a week of daily uses it snaps in half and I have 2 big globs of soap that are useless unless I squeeze them together to make a mini-thick bar of soap. I would rather pay MORE for Dial Soap and keep it thicker, full sized like it used to be (YES I remember). I will find an alternate anti-bacterial soap until Dial smartens up and makes it full size again. Too bad, since I grew up on Dial Soap...and I love the clean smell!
The new "Advanced Clean" bars just don't seem to be made with quality. To start, the bars have an unusual texture after the first use.. similar to how a bar feels after it's been left in a bathtub of water overnight; it doesn't feel solid. To add to the texture, the bars begin to "mushroom out" after a few uses.. like, the bar starts to get flat and wide. It also begins to crack after a few days of not using. And finally, the scent isn't the same. It's not bad, but it's definitely not the scent it used to be. I have to add, on a positive note, the bars do lather and clean as expected.
I've used Dial bar soap my entire adult life (I am 65). I am very disappointed in that it's formula has changed greatly. It seems like a lot of cheap glycerin has been added to this soap. If I wanted glycerin soap, I would have purchased it. As the bar gets smaller (and it gets small VERY fast) it becomes transparent. . . you can see right through it. It doesn't lather like it used to and doesn't smell good like it used to. It's been cheapened, all for the company's bottom line. How did you think we wouldn't notice?
This new version of dial gold sucks. Smells nothing like the original and drys my skin out. I used dial gold bar for years and won't anymore. Long time customer lost unless you bring back dial gold like it used to be!
Why did you change the formula??? Haven't you heard the old saying, “If it aint broke, don't fix it”? It was much better smelling and a bit easier to rinse completely off before, but now it's just nasty. I miss the clean smell I used to get with the old formula. Way to ruin a good product, guys!
I've used the gold bars of dial soap my entire life. It never failed me until this “new look” which is not just a new look but a new formula as well. It's terrible, I knew it was different the moment I smelled it. PLEASE bring back the previous formula. It was the only soap that kept my skin clear, and now this new formula is ruining it. You all say you want to hear from us, so please listen and bring back the previous formula.
They messed with the formula in 2016 and they've done it again. This time, I'm done. That classic smell that we've loved for years….gone! The new soap even feels different. It's slimy. Time for me to find a new soap. Such a shame. I've been using this for years. It was the soap often found in hotels (you know those mini bars you get for free). The smell of Dial Gold reminded me of all of those great vacations when I was younger. Well, it's gone now. Thanks a lot Dial.
I have been a fan of dial soap and have used it all my life, BUT now they have obviously changed the formulation of the antibacterial gold bar soap and it falls apart about halfway through each bar and so a ton of it ends up in the trash can because it falls into tiny pieces. I am 61 years old and my husband is 68 years old and we have been using this soap all of our lives and until the last year or so it has been the best soap on the market in my opinion but now it's awful! It is so slippery you can't even hold on to it. So much gets wasted it's not worth the money. I have talked to other people who have used it all their lives and they say the same thing. We will be changing soaps!!!
I have been using dial gold my whole life, NOT ANYMORE. Not sure what you guys are doing here, but the quality has gone WAY DOWN. Wonky packaging, does not sud up, takes forever to get a lather and the soap fades so fast, is more of a glycerin type soap, you can see through it..ALSO, the past 2 batches I have purchased the bars have black stripes going through the middle of the bars???? What the heck is that!??? And you don't realize it until after you have already used it. I thought it was just a one off thing but it's in ALL THE BARS. Not very attractive or comforting when you're supposed to be cleansing your body. I will be scouting out for another brand of soap for my family, don't feel safe using, especially on my kids.
