I bought this feed for my neighbor's horse, who was in an enclosure with no vegetation and was was only being fed a couple of flakes of hay each day. I am now giving him about 6 cups of this feed morning and evening and he seems to be doing well on it. We also cut a hole in the fence we share with this neighbor, so their horse spends much of his time in our small pasture which has grasses he enjoys eating.
I have actually used this product for well over a decade.as a supplement for a dozen horses. It is a good product at a good value. My only complaint is that the store is occasionally sold out and my closest store is in another county. So I order on-line (site to store) so I don't waste a trip. Good product. The horses do well on it and they like it. The price is reasonable. What's not to like?
Item is good... SHIPPING took 2 WEEKS.. UNACCEPTABLE....
This is a great economical grain supplement. I have only ever fed it as a supplement and not as a complete feed. For horses that are more sensitive to sweet feeds, this is a good choice. I usually purchase this if Wagon train is unavailable. Good product!
We feed this to both of our 12 year old horses as a supplement to their morning flake of alphalpha hay we give them each 1/2 standard scoop each morning and we also give them vitamin feed 3 oz per day and rolled molasis oats in the evenings with their flake of alfalpha. they are keeping a good weight and have a good energy level . Good addition to Senior horses diet and low cost.
i only received one 40 pound bag but i had ordered 2 40 pound bags of this horse feed
