This game is very cheap and perfect! Well at least right now. I bought oblivion without the expansion and it was 60 dollars. then I turned in that copy for 25 dollars and then bought the expansion pack! it was 75 dollars. But it was all worth it. i logged in 560 hours on oblivion. it is the greatest game ever invented. great graphics great sound and everything seems so real. and the best thing is that is midevil times.it is super hard. they say it takes over 1200 hours to complete all the quests in the game of the year edition. but instead of reading these long reviews you should start playing because its going to take along time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And my xbox had the 3 red rings of death after those 560 hours so i sent it into microsoft for free and it came back 2 weeks later then started playing. learned that xbox is unreliable then swicthed to pc. i have a toshiba satellite amd dual core 2.5ghz ati built in graphics windows 7 and oblivion runs like a dream. very smooth.

A Perfect (for me) RPG

When I first started playing this wonderful game I thought that the developers had me in mind when they made it I am a 64-year old computer gamer and play games as a hobby instead of well… stamp collecting for instance! I have been playing since I was 50 and feel that I have some insights into what makes a game a “classic.” Oblivion fell into the classic category right out of the gate. If you enjoy Role Playing and playing at your own pace this game will suit you perfectly. The game world is wide open. You can virtually travel anywhere within the world of Oblivion… on foot, on horseback or “fast travel” from city to city, even taking a swim from time to time. (BTW you can be on horseback and cross a river or lake, no problem). You can adjust the game to make it as difficult or as easy as you like. There is nothing confining as respects saving the game. You are not limited in the number of saves you can have. The UI is simple and intuitive with a radial dial hot key set-up that is a joy. The game advertisements say you can be who or whatever you want to be and they aren't kidding. You want to smash and bash, no problem… you want to sneak, steal and snipe, no problem… you want to shake the world with the power of your magic, no problem. The graphics are terrific and the games physics engine works, as you would expect it to in the real world. Drop a sword on a steep slope and it will slide to the bottom… kill an enemy on that same slope and his body will also slide all the way to the bottom. You will have to chase it to loot the corpse. You are provided with innumerable settings to enhance the performance of your machine so almost any computer can be set-up to give you an enjoyable gaming experience. And to top it all off the game is long and I mean looooong. Over 200 hours I am guessing and that does not include the expansions. Oblivion is a classic game that you will be on your hard drive for months if not years. So… buy it! I envy all the computer gamers that have not played it yet… lucky guys and gals. Have fun!

Research before you buy

When I first bought this product, it was around $50. Granted, it was my own fault for not researching, but I was bored and I had giftcards to use. After the little mix up with the price was done, and I traded what I got for the refund at the store, then buy the $20 game off the shelf, I was happy. :) Installed perfectly on my laptop, runs excellently on XP. It will take a while to get used to, but it you are computer savy, you will get hooked. It's like a medieval GTA IV, except you do not get away with your crimes if you simply hide. Have fun. :)

The must-have RPG

The DVD-Rom version of TES: Oblivion is a stunningly beautiful and well-crafted piece of entertainement. The worlds it offers are varied and each beautiful in it's own way. For the gamer who wants to become another person and embark on thrilling quests with a custom-built character, look no further than Oblivion. Caveat Emptor: if you don't have a deent computer, you will end up running the game with low visual quality so you maintain a playable FPS rate. This game goes from a 10/10 to a 20/10 if you choose to delve into the world of the TES modding community. I personally have about 10 "must-have" mods that make this game irresistible to play. If you're trying to decide between the PS3, XBOX 360, or PC versions of the game, Iw ould wholeheartedly suggest that you buy the PC version. For one, you can update it with official patches, secondly you can download hundreds upon hundreds of official and user-created mods, and you can use the console to get out of sticky situations.
