I've see this line counter in action fishing for Tuna 5 weeks ago, this a easy to use guide tool to know how many feet of line is out of your reel
Great item would order again
Fairly easy to install and use. I had a friend recommend.
It does count the line, but it doesn't like to stay in place on the pole. It works fine, but it takes a bit of tweaking to get it in place for the line to read properly. I put it in place, use it for the depth, then take it back off.
He doesnt work accurately 100% of the time. If you counted the same line half a dozen times the measurement wouldnt be the same every time but they would be very close. But it does work.
Didn't work for me no direction s unable to make adjustments. Wanted to use to measure amount of line putting on reel
Worked at first, then didn't work after.Took it apart and noticed the grommet holding the counter rod fell off.Fixed it twice and stuck some folded paper on top to hold it in place. You get what you pay for,a cheap $15 dollar piece of doodoo.
I bought one of theses hoping it would give a fairly accurate reading of line going through it. There's a little screw on the side that seems to do nothing. Every time I pull out a length of line it measures between 1.3 & 1.6 % more than what I've pulled out. That's 100 ft measuring 130 to 160 feet. The line counter isn't even accurate to itself so trying to calculate actual feet from what it gives you is still a pretty big margin of error. Very disappointed.
Worked one time, now fails to work consistently no matter what line I use or placement rod. Better off buying a reel with a built in counter. Makes me want to avoid other Berkley products.
I threw away my money on this one. The unit came with no instructions but if you go online, you can find the “how to's”. That said, this thing does not work. The line (I tried with 25, 30 and 50 lb monofilament) slides through with almost no movement of the counter. Adjusting the pressure arm did nothing. After pullin 8 feet of line through the unit, I would get a reading of just under a foot. It is pure crap and Berkeley should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on this.
