Great coverage and easy to apply. I've used this many times and it really does a great job!
Delivery time and the price of less than $5.00 (I got another can for $19.50 at Advance Autoparts. This is the best automotive rust reformer for this purpose. However, this item was supposed to be on the shelf in Monticello, NY according to Walmart website. It was not !
Just started using this product so far looks very good
Goes on fast so keep moving. Seems to be working. Best price here.
Use it and it works.
Rustoleum rust converter paint. It converts the rust. No more rust. That's all I cared about. It did what it was supposed to.
I don't know what the other reviewers problem was with this product. I have used it for years with great results, including the restoration of my 1962 Chevy C-10 Step Side pick up. For maximum rust protection I sand down heavy rust, then coat the rust with a product such as Oxy-Gone which converts the rust from iron oxide to iron phosphate. Once the conversion has taken place , I then top coat with the Rust Reformer before painting. I also to this to truck beds before using a DIY bedliner such as Herculiner. It has been 5 years since I did this on my 1962 Chevy Truck and there is no signs of rust to be found. I also like the flat "hot rod" black finish and have used it to paint truck tool boxes and the like when I wanted a nice flat finish that also gave me rust protection as well.
I used on a flat bed truck after using a wire wheel. I went over it with bed liner paint and it did the trick. It has been several months and no rust has come back through.
Good product. I've used this before and on most items it works as advertised. Does not prevent rusting again on metal exposed to the weather on the long term. I've used this on 60 year old air vents. After removing the old paint (thick layers) and removed as much rust as I could, I applied the Rust Reformer before priming and painting. For 3 years now, the vents have not shown any sign of rusting coming through the paint.
Full strength rust reformer liquid in the 8 oz. container works great. But the aerosol version is mostly BLACK PAINT. The rust reformer liquid brushes on milky white and turns black to let you know it's working and if it needs another coat. You won't get that result by spraying black paint on the surface you want to treat. The aerosol can is a completely different product that should be labeled as such, i.e.: Black Paint with rust reformer added. For serious and effective rust treatment you can have some control over use the brush-on liquid.
