This bookcase is very well-constructed and made of nicely finished materials, and the low price is a bonus, much better quality than you would expect given the cost. It was easy to assemble, although another pair of hands would have shortened the time it took, and is very sturdy ... I think it is also very attractive. I would buy it again, and may actually get another one.
The top shelf is 36 inches but the other shelves are 28 3/4 inches. The shelves have a nice finish but are a little more reddish than pictured. Has a very finished look not like some RTA products. Instructions were not clear but if you can follow a diagram you'll get it together alright. I may order another shelf.
This was so easy to put together it took maybe an hour if that... you will need a screwdriver it comes with a tool but trust me just get a screwdriver..lol . Its a good size too- I have a ton of books on it and it holds up nice . It has some weight to it also. It looks great and you cant beat the price- WAY TO GO WALMART!
The moment I opened the box I was impressed, every item was wrapped very carefully and the materials looked to be quality. The finished product looks like a quality wood bookcase and is quite solid. More attractive than I thought it would be. For the price it really cannot be beat, even considering that putting it together is somewhat complex and took a few hours of figuring things out. That is probably more me than the schematic since I don't assemble things often.
I purchased this as a cookbook bookcase to go in the kitchen. At only three feet wide and less than a foot deep, this fits nicely in a spot in the dining room/kitchen area (we're in an apartment, and space is at a premium). The quality of the materials is much higher than I expected. When I purchased it, I thought, "Well, at least if it's not very good I haven't paid much for it." After putting it up and receiving many compliments on it, I am changing my tune! It's a solid little bookcase, and it looks nice, too.
I ordered 6 of these & have been pretty pleased with them. I've had them for around 8 months now & full of heavy books. They are holding up well. My only complaint is that the color was much more reddish that expected for an "oak" finish. It really bothered me at first, but I'm used to them now. They fit in fine because they are not right next to my real oak furniture. All In all, they are worth every penny!
This is a great product for the price. We needed the table for our living room to hold our cable box & dvd player. We wanted something bigger to hold picture frames, dvds, etc. It works great for what we needed it for. There are multiple positioning options for the shelves. The only negative is that that each piece isn't color matched exactly the same. The right panel is a little lighter than the shelves and the other panel ... but not enough to make a huge difference. Most people don't even notice.
I would definately reccomend this product to anyone who is searching for a nice looking inexspensive bookcase. It looks exactly as pictured and the dimensions are accurate. It's not that hard to assemble, altho the instructions leave it up to you to figure out which is the front and back of each side, because there are no rough edges or stickers to let you know. Once you get it figured out though, it only takes about 30 minutes for assembly. Do have your own glue on hand tho because the glue that came with it was just about all dried up. It seems to be a sturdy piece of furniture, holds alot of weight and alot of books or whatnot. It looks very nice in my living room, adds a touch of simple elegance. You may want to keep in mind that the color of the stain on this is a reddish brown. I would surely reccomend this product, only i think the price should be slightly lower. I did find it worth the money i paid for it tho, for it was exactly what i was looking for as far as size goes. Not too big, not too small and again, looks good, very solid, and holds alot.
I am pleasantly surprised at how good this bookcase looks and how sturdy it is! I was searching for a specific size to fit a certain location in my house, and settled on this as kind of a last resort - and it looks great! It was well packaged and had ALL the necessary parts, screws, dowels, etc., and was relatively easy to put together. The only reason I'm not giving an "excellent" rating is in a couple of spots the finish is a bit rough, but that is easy to fix (or cover up.)
I bought two of these 3 shelves book cases because I needed them. The first one was very good although the instruction could be more clear. In the second one, none of the wood plugs which are used to cover the screws head fit right. They were loose and fell off or stuck out. I had to use tape inside the plugs to make them stay in place. So the bookcase can be good one or not a good one depending on your luck. I grade the quality control an "F" and appearance and design an "B+ to-A"
