Great for teaching

This is really good if u have kids that are learning colors and how to count and even message. It's even good for math. I have a 4 year old that's going to be going into kindergarten this coming up school year and she loves to cont and sort them and I will ask her colors everything is and she will tell me and i will ask her how many teams there are is serten colors and she tells me. I even have a 7 year old that is in 2 nd grad and she is learning all kids of math so it's good for her to use it to sort and messier and Learn the pie part of math. If u have a child U need to teach how to grip the tongs are good for that and shapes and even texted. My sister inlow is going get one because she runs a daycare and is always looking for stuff to teacher her little kids that she has preschool school stuff. When my kids are not using it for learning they take it and pretend to cut the pie and feed everyone or they will take the fruit like oranges and apples and grapes and bananas out and use it to cook in there little toy cooking stuff they have. Well I would be telling everyone that this is a great product for kids to Learn with for kids it's fun with its Brit colors and shaps.

EDUCATIONAL GREAT OT & FUN-DURABLE QTY product

The sorting pie is quite a bit larger than I expected (about 12" in diameter and 3" deep). There are many more ways to sort than I expected as well. For example there are apples, plums, peaches (same mold different colors) and raspberries, grapes (same mold different colors) lemons, oranges...well you get the idea. There are five different sections to the pie and different cards you can position under the sections to "guide" on how to sort (type of fruit, color, shape, etc). To play we dumped the fruit into the "upper crust" or lid of the pie. Then we chose the method of sorting and placed the card under the section divider. The set comes with two pincers. The pincers have great tension for strengthening muscles. My nine year old has issues with his grip and this was a good exerciser for him. I CANNOT STRESS HOW WELL MADE this product is. Every item in it has a great weight and durability. This would've excellent in any PT OT Dr office hospital or classroom!

Fun way to learn about colors and shapes

This is a great tool for teaching colors, shapes, texture, and counting! It is well made. I expect it will last for many years to come. The colors are vibrant. The activity cards are sturdy. The pieces of fruit are just the right size. I thought the tweezers might be hard for little hands to squeeze, but my 4 year old niece had no problem. I will be bringing this to school to add to my free time center as I teach computer skills and have some students who don't like playing computer games during 'free time.' It comes with activity cards that go under the slices (insert tray) that show what to match. The activity cards show fruit by colors, same fruit, just plain colors, shape of fruit with no color, numbers 1 - 5 on one side and 6 - 10 on the other side. They can create patterns on their desk by color or shape. They can count them, do addition, subtraction and word problems. And of course, they can just play like they are making a pie! I don't have any negatives about this product. I am so excited to be able to use it at school, and then bring it home on the weekends that my 6 yr old granddaughter will be here. I also love that the pie contains all the pieces for easy storage.

Lots of small pieces

I thought this looked very much like a real pie when I opened it. I would definitely keep it away from small kids due to all the small pieces of fruit. The pieces all fit neatly back into the pie when putting it away. My daughter had so much fun with this pie. We played with it as a family also and actually had some fun. The paper pieces that cone with it are kinda flimsy and my daughter tore them already. I would recommend this to small children to help them learn colors and counting. My niece has autism and she plays it to use the tweezers provided to help strengthen her hands. They were a little harder for me to use as an adult because they ate so big. Overall a great idea and wonderful game for the whole family.

Learning The Basics

This pie is great for sorting and teaching basic math concepts to kindergarten students. This product serves as a great introduction to specific skills such as sorting, counting, basic math, matching, colors, patterning, addition and subtraction and dexterity. Kids can use the tweezers to sort by color, by type or to just "serve" the fruits. With some assistance it is also a great counting manipulative and has the versatility for the sorting and counting to grow in complexity throughout the preschool and kindergarten years. The tweezers are also excellent for fine motor-skill manipulative and development. I Fantastic way to help kiddos develop greater attention, concentration, and focus. It works well with creative thinking process as to pretend to have a bakery and bake pies with chosen fruit or the customer (mom, dad, siblings). I cannot stress enough the importance of supervision since the pieces are small.

Awesome game for toddlers!

Wow! I was apprehensive at first about seeing this game online, but once I got it in I was all wrong. It's an awesome game for your little one and even the older ones! The recommended age for this game is 3+; however, I wanted to see if a child a little bit younger would like it. Of course he was supervised because of the smaller pieces, but at 2 years old you supervise them anyway. There are a few different games you can play with this pie. You can sort by colors, numbers, shapes, and fruit type. The blue bottom part of the pie disconnects from the part that divides the pie and then you can place whichever card type you want on it. It comes with 3 cards that have different sorting options on both sides. Then you just slide the divider over the pie. We placed all the colored fruits in the top of the pie to hold them while we played the game. It comes with 2 sturdy little clampers that you can use to pick up the colored fruits. I tested these out on children ages 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9. None of them had any trouble using the grippers. After playing the color game with the 2 year old about 3 times he knew what he was supposed to do. It was very exciting to see. He was so proud when we would all clap because he got them right. The other kids who played with him had just as much fun! I highly recommend this game. It's fun, it's educational, and so rewarding for the kids and parents when they do a good job!

This pie is a wonderful toy and learning tool all in one. My granddaughter Kate gives it 5 stars! Her attention span is pretty limited, but this pie has kept it for quite awhile from the very first time! That by itself says a lot. She bakes a pie everyday! It's made just for her little hands to work with. I love that it won't get old and useless. She is only 3 and sees it as a fruit pie that she's baking in her kitchen, and feeding to her baby dolls. Aside from the pretend role play experience she gets out of it, she's also learning about fruits, colors, sorting, dexterity, sharing, game play and much more. Later she will move on into developing her mathematical skills. This pie is very durable and cute. I love the way everything can all stay in the pie when it's cleanup time. It has 60 pieces of fruit in 5 colors. The fruit is also very well made, you can tell by the feel of it. It's not lightweight cheap thin plastic junk that splits and dents. It will make it for the long haul. The fruit can be sorted into the pie "slices" by type of fruit, color, or specific amount. The tweezers are just the right size for small hands. And they're a great tool for strengthening hand and finger movements. There are three sorting cards (pie bottoms) that provide a variety of ways to play and learn. Both sides of each card can be used. This "toy" will help my Kate with understanding math as she grows. And gosh, I really love that it has no noise distractions! It doesn't ring, ding, sing or scream! I give my highest recommendation for this product!

my impression of the Sorting Pie. At first the general impression. These toys are definitely worth all their rewards. very high quality, the figures are quite solid, but they are comfortable to hold in a child's hand, they do not have sharp corners. In the set of 5 kinds of figures, each in two colors. A total of 60 fruits. Two pairs of big forceps, and of course, 3-piece liners, each two-sided. The package is written from the age of 3, but you can play it earlier, and certainly for a long time. Tasks of varying complexity, from the decomposition of the colors, to the number of pieces and shapes. my daughter was totally ecstatic about the pie. First, my daughter laid out one fruit, then poured everything together and laid out in separate cells, then turned over the task and laid out another set of fruits. In general, while this whole thing was happening, my mother even managed to cook dinner with TWO HANDS. and at the end she laid out all the fruits, closed the cake and wanted to bake it on a toy plate in general we were both very pleased.

Learning Resources Super Sorting Pie is a perfect toy that teaches and reinforces your young children in early math concepts like number skills and attributes, in fine motor skills, in practicing basic things and in a little more because it also includes colors and fruit shapes. The design is an innovative durable plastic fruit pie of a diameter of around 8.50 inches or 22 centimeters with a removable divider that stores and includes 60 counters that came in five different colors: red, yellow, orange, green and blue, and seven fruits apples, bananas, grapes, oranges, grapefruits, apricots and plums. It also comes with two sets of jumbo tweezers that help students reinforce or practice fine motor skills. The depressions on the tweezers help guide little hands into the proper grip technique, developing motor skills that will be important for holding and manipulating a pencil. Includes an activity guide and three sorting cards that slip into the bottom of the pan that provides supportive visual clues to identify, sort & classify the fruits by attribute. With this interesting learning toy kids from 4 years and up could play it, is not recommended for young children because it has small pieces that can cause choking. They could play alone or with more girls and boys, indoor or outdoor, in any place, avoiding that cards get wet because it can damage or destroy them. The top crust becomes a bowl to conveniently hold counters and store the toy for later use so you can keep pieces organized

to put the small pieces in her mouth for a taste! She's 3, so this was not totally unexpected. She quickly took them out cause the taste was NOT pleasant! The package DOES contain warnings both on the box and on a paper insert, about this possibility. The packaging wording says the toy is for children 3 and up, and I definitely would not reccomend this toy to any child under 3. The set includes 2 small tongs that can be used to move the fruits around. You can see these in the photo. It's all very coilorful and seems to be something that would last through several childrens usage, so it would be around a long time. This makes it very worth the price for todays budget minded families. There are 3 paper circle pieces included, that fit in the bottom of the plate. These are printed with numbers, colors and shapes that can be used to identify the pieces. These paper circles are a bit flimsey so I'm not sure how long they will last. All in all, my grand daughter and I spent several hours being fascinated with colors and counting! Including us making a "pretend" pie and by using the tongs, we served the fruit pieces on her tea set plates for our afternoon snack along with her usual cookies.
