I bought this item for my nephew, he's 2 1/2. As soon as he opened it, he squealed with delight at having his "own" laptop. We have not yet set up the optional Email, music list and blog features, but he has spent hour playing with the three play modes. His favorite is the MUSIC feature because he LOVES finding the elephant sound effect. It holds his attention for about 15 to 20 mins at a time.
The service is the important thing about this purchase. Walmart delivered item to my home address and I adjusted my gift giving from a birthday gift in August to a Christmas gift in December. I think item is appropriate for ages 2 to 4. Most more expensive laptops start at 3 years and go beyond age 4.
My daughter got this as a gift (I asked grandparents for Xmas). She loves it, she's a smart 4 (does need it but still plays with it), got her little brother one & they will play together with them. I strongly feel this really helped her learn her ABCs, sounds, and letter association, fun music and cool song about spelling her name. I know get this for baby shower & 1st birthday present. Product says 2-4 but it's never to early to learn your ABCs, we got for her at 1. We bought a second one for our son 10-11 months & her loves it :) Super durable, too!!!!
Love the little alphabets and the sounds along with numbers. Then there is a word that accompanies the letter or the number. Also, lights up. Very engaging. Child presses number or letter and a word or number that relates to that letter or number will respond and re-enforce it. Child can and will learn through repeating the process.
I like it, my two yr old likes it. Only thing was, he's named after his father and they did not have that as a name in their directory. It's a good thing I call him by his middle name also. Other than that how can you complain. Worth the price.
Entertaining and educational. Purchased for my 2 year old grandson and he loves it! He's had it for a few weeks and now when I read to him he points to the letters and says their name. For some reason he's especially fond of the letter "o".
It's a good toy for 2 and up. My son plays with it all the time. A lot of buttons and cute little puppy jumping on the screen keep him busy for 15-20 minutes at the time.
I bought this for my grandson who is 2 1/2. He loves to play with it. My only issue is that the screen is quite dark which makes it hard to make out the animals unless you are in a lot of light. It would be perfect if it wasn't for that.
The screen does not light up, and is difficult to see. There are basically just a few songs, phrases and commands which are hard to follow. My 2 year old was frustrated by it.. Its going back.
I am very upset about this product! I had bought the older version with mouse for my nephew last year. This year I bought one for my 1 year old... They completely changed it. The older version was personalized to the child. It used to say their names, spell their names, have custom emails from family members! This one does none of that. You can add your child's name but it won't say it! So unless you just want it for ABC & animal sounds I'd suggest a different model!
