It’s a nice looking machine and does not make a lot of noise
very basic machine with a few decorative stitches. Very lightweight, and has a small but reasonable quilting table with it. Perfect for taking to class, and that is what I am using it for. Just get yourself a rolling carrycase, and this is perfect for either regular sewing classes, or quilting classes.
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmarts Holiday Sewing Contest. I purchased this machine in hopes of learning to sew, and it has not let me down! I had VERY limited sewing experience prior to purchasing this machine, and was really unsure of where to start. But,I was able to make a few burp cloths in a jiffy thanks to this easy-to-use machine (and Pinterest)! I read hundreds of reviews on Walmart, Amazon, sewing websites/blogs, and from other retailers and decided to buy this machine due to its outstanding reviews. I was not at all disappointed! The instructional video and instruction manual helped me get it up and going with no problems. The needle threader is GREAT, and super easy to use. I love having the manual knobs vs. a computerized machine so I can easily double-check and change stitches/lengths. This machine comes with several standard sewing feet AND A WALKING FOOT! I put that in all caps because it is hands-down my favorite part of this machine. I didn't know what a walking foot was when I purchased this machine, but have since learned of its value (both monetary and when sewing). You could easily spend $40 buying a walking foot from Brother, so the fact that it comes with this machine is truly a bonus. This machine does everything I want and more. I am excited to use it for years to come, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start a new hobby, or just those looking for a new machine.
This machine was so easy to set up and use. I'm not an experienced seamstress by any means, and it was been many years since I've sewn (at the supervision of my grandmother). I was a little nervous at first, but the machine set up and threaded with no issues and was so easy to use. Playing with it to learn the full use is something I'm looking forward to doing.
This machine is a bargain for the price. All the attachments and table that are included are worth much more than the total price offered. It is good for the basic to intermediate sewer. The needle threader has been a challenge but once you practice a bit, it really saves time and frustration. My last Brother machine was very similar and lasted for many yrs.
Love the sewing machine, my last one I had for 17 years . Brother's make a really good machine. Didn't like the shipping time. I think it was on FEDEX not Walmart.
I love this machine! I used to sew a lot, but haven't in 40 years, so I'm a bit rusty. I wanted to get back into it, so I shopped for a fairly simple machine, but one that would do buttonholes in one step, good choices of different stitches, and easy to set up. I got all that and more! It was simple to set up. It is easy to use. The instructions were clear. It comes with a DVD of instructions, too. Plus it looks cute sitting on my sewing table!
I am still discovering features of this new sewing machine & am happy with the attachable table & the stitches are looking great. I plan to learn machine quilting so think this one will do the job for me. The delivery time was amazing and came a day ahead of scheduled delivery so that was a plus.
Unreliable. I bought 9 of these machines to teach sewing classes. I spend more time troubleshooting than sewing with my students. They are cheaply made. Thread tangles a lot. Self threader is too difficult to use especially for my older and very young students. Screwdriver is laughable and too small to be useful. Tension is a constant problem. No spool top holders included. Needle and foot screws fall out from the machine vibrations. Stitch guide is backwards. Buttonhole foot is difficult to use. Overall not efficient or reliable.
It is awkward to use to begin with. I have sewn professionally for over ten years and never had such an uncomfortable machine. Next, it claims to have 37 stitch patterns, but only straight and zigzag work. Then, I tried the online support to figure the problem out, but they only offered the same information was in the manual. After trying it a few times, now it doesn't stitch at all.
