I looked at several stores, including a Walmart store, for a music box, which was a requested Christmas gift. I found this one on line at Walmart. It is very pretty and the music is lovely. I'm sure my Christmas angel at the nursing home was pleased with it. I was afraid it would be kinda child like; but, it was very elegate.
I Bought two of the music boxes for two of my grand nieces as part of their Xmas present. I also bought them a Minnie Mouse watch for each of them so they can have a piece of real jewelry to put in their music box. It is a very cute little musical jewelry box and has enough storage for a child's jewely and is certainly big enough to accommodate storing the Minnie Mouse watch and, have room to spare. Just like the one my sister received more than 50 years ago for Xmas from our uncle, this one has a pop up balarina which dances in front of a mirror and is an old fashioned wind up music box-no batteries needed for a change. The movement is smooth running and certainly enchanted my two grand nieces with Tchaikowsky's "Swan Lake" which is nice, loud and, has a clear tone. We had Xmas at my sister's house which is very large. The music box can be heard all the way in the living room from the large family room next door. My one grand niece embraced it so much, she carried all over the place. I was nicely surprised to see the music played for a long time after winding it only once. It seems well made and is certainly big enough for a little girl's trinkets. Don't be discouraged by other reviews which state it is small and not a good buy. It certainly is big enough for a little girl's treasures and, is very well made for the low price of less than $15. After all, it is a mechanical jewelry box reminiscent of a bygone era. No batteries were needed here before wrapping this quaint, lovely old fashioned music box. Just wrap it and give it. All your little recepient has to do is wind it and, enjoy it like we use to before Xmas presents became so high tech with long instructions printed in several languages. This is an old fashioned gift that can be given from the heart and will be enjoyed by any little girl for a long time. I am glad you can still find these old fashioned musical jewelry boxes at Walmart. As always, Walmart seems to find well made items with old world charm that are excellent for gift giving at an affordable price that can stll enchant a young child today.

THIS WAS A GIFT. SHE LOVED IT!! IT WAS BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED. THE BALLERINAS ON THE FRONT HAD SPARLY TU TU'S. NORMALLY THESE ITEMS ARE ONLY CARRIED IN STORE DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SO I WAS PLEASED TO SEE IT STILL AVAILABLE ONLINE. I USED SITE DELIVERY AS I HAVE MANY OTHER TIMES AND WAS ALWAYS PLEASED W/ THE ITEM AND SERVICE.
Bought this for my grand daughter for Christmas and was very please with the item. Packaged nicely and arrived without any problems. Tested it and it worked with no problem. I know she is going to love it. It's absolutely adorable, and just the right size.
Perfect for a little girl just starting to wear jewelry. Durable, pretty, nice music, works as advertized.
The spring holding the ballerina is bent so she rotates off balance. We tried to straighten the coil and it helped a little.
Love the iridescent color and the perfect pink! Bought the blue version, not iridescent, at Christmas for my older grand daughter and the little one wanted one too. Grandma promised one for her birthday. Beautiful color but this one the clasp closing the box did not line up. My grand daughter is going to be 3 so she won't care.
I should have looked more closely at the measurements. This is not the same size ballerina box from my childhood. It is tiny. I would expect it to be between five and ten dollars, not fifteen. It fits in the palm of my hand...see picture attached.
This box is poorly made, lining not attached properly so as to not meet the walls of the box.
