Phlox Paniculata, sometimes simply called garden phlox, has a sweet fragrance and pretty five-petaled flowers that grow in a pyramidal cluster above tall stems. It is available in several colors such as lavender and pink. This is a native plant that blooms in summer. It prefers sun to partial shade and moist, fertile, well-drained soil. It’s beautiful in perennial, cottage, or pollinator gardens. Phlox attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Plant these flowers together in groups, in garden beds, for instant color. You can also mix them with other annuals and perennials to create beautiful spaces in your landscape or unique container garden creations for porches and patios. For healthy plants that will bloom all season, water until plants are established. Then simply water as needed. Feed plants with an all purpose fertilizer in spring and fall at the base of the plant.
