I had purchased one identical to this one for my Grandson for when he went away to college to keep his money, checkbook, passport, important papers, etc. in. He kept it in the cardboard box it came in as well so it was well hidden from all while at school. He had it for over 6 years until a pin for the combination came dislodged and neither the combination or the key would work to open it. He had to break the box open to get his things out which was not easy to do. He liked it so much we decided to get him another one at his request. He is living with four other roommates in an apartment and there are always people coming and going that he doesn't know that well so he feels more secure with this. Excellent value!
I needed somewhere to keep my medicine since I have four kid in the house and this works perfectly! What's even better is I don't have to keep track on a key to open it! LOVE the keypad!! Makes it so much easier since I have to get into the box everyday!
My husband and I wanted to be able to store our wills and other important documents securely and in a manner that our adult children would have easy access if necessary. The combination lock was easy to set up and works smoothly.
I bought this for my son who is going off to college in the fall to keep his valuables in. I love the combination feature with key back-up. Great value for the price and for the need that I had for it.
Well pleased with the Digital Locking Steel Box and like that it can be opened either with a key or digital lock (batteries were included). This was initially purchased as security for a gun and it still has plenty of room to store other items. The bottom of the box is lined with a foam cushion, my only suggestion would be the the sides would be lined as well. Great quality and well worth the money.
Easy to set password that can be unique and not easily figured out. Big enough to hold important documents without the hassle of paying a ton of money to store them in a safety deposit box at the local bank, sturdy, fire proof and small enough to be mounted or hidden in conspicuous places. Wonderful item I love it!
This is our fire box to protect those valuables such as our insurance policies and wills, etc....its always good to have those items in a secure place where they will be safe if you need them.
It helps a little. The keypad code doesn't work ever since we programmed it. Only the override key will unlock it. It holds a lot.
the inside is much bigger than i expected, i did not think i'd be able to fit my large camera in there but i can and then some. The batteris will not stay put for some reason, so the key pad will not work unless i've just set the batteries in... luckily it has a key, and we are fine with only using the key. it has no way to secure it to anything so someone doesnt just walk off with it, but if its well hidden thats not too big of a deal.
Did not receive locking cable, battery's do not stay in slots so key pad will not operate. You have use the key to get in and out so don't lose them. When the lock is in the lock position handle seems very weak. Jon Han
