This is only the second Zero Pitcher I have ever had. My first one lasted over six years and the little water dispenser gave out. I find that Zero Pitchers do strip out the most particulates and you can taste it.
The company states that although not certified as removing fluoride - fluoride is an inorganic compound and those are removed
This product replaced a Brita system. I was concerned with my water's quality since I live in a older house with lead pipes delivering water. The Brita filtered water showed the same higher test numbers for solid contaminates as straight from the tap. The water filtered thru the Zero showed zero contaminates, what is what I was after. The replacement filters are expensive, I was prepared for that. I've only had this for a few weeks and use it frequently and the water still tests zero. I am hopeful for the life of the filter. It is still cheaper than health failure due to poisoning from water contaminates. I wish there was a way to get this filter to taps of poor folks that live in old buildings like me.
This water pitcher came with a tester. As directed I used clean glasses for my test. Tap water tested at 589 (our home has a water softener.) Filtered water from the refrigerator tested at 365. Zero water pitcher tested at 0. The filters are more expensive, but if your goal is zero I would highly recommend this water system. Coupons for the filters are offered. They have assorted sizes, this size works well for me.
I was more than a little skeptical when I purchased the ZeroWater 8 Cup Filtration Pitcher. I am very happy to say that this product totally exceeded my expectations! It truly does an excellent job and the water tastes exceptional!!!
I am very impressed with this filtration system. The tester was very interesting to try on our current tap water as well as our Brita filtered water. It turns out that our Brita filtered water was not that much cleaner than our water straight out of the tap. The ZeroWater was just as it said - 0, compared to 118 with Brita and 138 out of the tap. I drink a lot of water, so it's comforting to know that it's CLEAN. My only concern is that I believe it filters out flouride which isn't as important for adults but can be very helpful in preventing cavities in children.
I have well water that after sitting in the glass half way through the night and ice melts and it smells and tases like garlic. with this Zero water pitcher there is no smell to the water and it just tastes like bottled water.
Using this filter made my HORRIBLE, inedible tap water taste good, by which I mean it tasted like water: clean, clear, and no "flavor". Finally, a water filter system I can trust, test, and that works like a charm. Now I can filter my tap water into the bottle, and just pour our to cook rice, pasta, and all my other water needs. I really like this product. The TDS meter snaps into the top so that you never lose it. My only complaint is that the water trickles out in a thin stream from the Pull & Pour button, but it's easy enough to pour out of the pitcher directly. I have received a ZeroWater pitcher and filters to facilitate my review.
The system seems to really remove more impurities than my Brita system, but the top of the pitcher does not sit tight. The handle also has sharp edges making it uncomfortable to pour.
Wish we had purchased this way sooner. This is a great product. We have terrible water and this makes it so easy to have great tasting clean water. We used to lug out jugs to the store and fill up and with this we no longer need to do that. I gave it 4 stars only because of the handle. It has a seam on it that digs into your fingers when your holding it. They should hang that. Other than that we LOVE it. Worth every penny.
