This allows you to plug pretty much anything into any socket. For instance, I have an inexpensive cell phone with a UK plug on its charger. This adapter lets me plug it in here in the US to charge the phone before a trip. Keep in mind that it does not change voltage or frequency. It just provides a connection. But many chargers for electronic equipment will accept 100-240V and 50-60 Hz.
