I was buying the small cans and one day saw this size and have bought it often since. I keep the smaller cans in the car .... I'm quite rural and some trips are an hour or more one way and it helps if my glucose goes too low to have a protein, "healthy" snack handy.
Haven't purchased for a year or longer; purchased the salted dry roasted in a jar and the taste is different. Before these had a sweeter taste to them (sugar came through more); now they have an onion-smoky taste, although sugar is still there. Giving 4 stars for new taste (I like it!) but not 5, because so many peanut skins at the bottom of the jar.
We use a 56 oz can of peanuts about every one to two weeks. We make homemade peanut butter with our food processor. We also enjoy a handful now and then on their own. We have commented to ourselves over the last year or two that something is different about the taste of the salted classic peanuts. Its taste is less appealing to us. We wonder what has maybe changed? Our taste buds? The peanut oils? Whatever it is we have decide it is no longer a taste we like or would by.

I have purchased these for years in small bags and they were always great. I guess Hormel has found a way to make these taste differently in a bad way for whatever reason.
I have been a regular user of Planters Salted Cocktail Peanuts for several years. Even when I was not able to get the same off the shelf in U.A.E, I used to buy it from Philippines, Singapore or Europe during my travels. Recently I ordered 6 cans of COCKTAIL PEANUTS through DESERT CART and the items were delivered in a week but on opening one can I noticed the change of taste. The label on the can shows Cocktail peanuts but items supplied was CLASSIC where as my order clearly states Planters Cocktail peanuts salted. This is certainly a goof up from the supplier as the labels are mixed up or deliberate attempt to misguide the customers. I have contacted DESERT CART and given all details, they have agreed to replace the same. However this kind of a mix up is unexpected from a company of such repute.
Started getting planters peanuts as a kid on the boardwalk in Atlantic city. While those were peanuts in shells, planters nuts always had the good " roasted" flavor. Over the years I have enjoyed the coctail nuts....until recently. They are now so oily and have almost no salt on them. They don't taste like they were roasted enough. I won't be purchasing these ever again.
