I recently bought the Vio. I fell in love with it the first day. It's easy to use and easy to carry around. I really like the tracking feature on my smartphone. More important, my wife loves it. She no longer worries about me when I'm out drinking with clients and prospects. I now text her my BAC. If it's at an acceptable level I tell her I'm on my way home. If it isn't I stop drinking and go grab some food and water. When my BAC goes back down I let her know when I'm heading home. Your product is both a life and a marriage saver!
I'm very impressed with the little keychain Vio breathalyzer I purchased. It has earned me the name "Mr. Responsible" and that in itself is remarkable. Thank you for providing such a simple device to use. And making it a keychain was a stroke of BRILLIANCE! Not only do I enjoy the hardware (the Vio itself) but; the software you provide with the application (app) is very informative and helpful. Thanks again for providing such a wonderfully simple and brilliant piece of technology that helps make for better choices. *HIGH FIVE*
Bought the Vio smartphone analyzer last month, and it works great! The breathalyzer is compact and easy to use, and the smartphone integration is flawless!
I bought this product to test my BAC after social drinking, but it often turns itself off just before warm up, unable to get a reading half of the time. Don't know if this is a bug with the app, or a problem with the unit itself. Can't recommend it at this point.
I've had the BACtrack Vio for less than 3 months, it was working well at first, then on xmas i had a whole bottle of wine and my readings came up as 0.00, then i tried again another night i had a few beers and the reading was 0.00 again...
Within the first six months (because it needs re-calibration every 6-12 months), I noticed inconsistency when taking a reading. I would have to take 3-9 samples back to back to see if there was any pattern. What did I find? No pattern. It would go from 1.0 down to 0.03, up to .09, down to 0.07, then down to 0.03 again, then up to 0.05... it was always inconsistent with no pattern. I would understand if it consistently got lower or higher, but this thing couldn't be read. I better be able to send it in for recalibration without postage charge because this company is not commercializing a reliable product.
I got this in today and since I have the day off tomorrow decided to have a couple drinks in my house to see how it works. Before realizing it suggested to wait 15 minutes, I received a reading of .07. Since I didn't wait, I figured that was inaccurate. After finishing a pint glass of Jack and Coke, I waited exactly 15 minutes and tried a new test. This is the second beverage I finished, waited 15 minutes and tested. Both times I received 0.00 as a result which is impossible. The device seems inaccurate and unreliable and I will be returning it.
I bought this product about month ago. At first it worked, but only sporadically. It gave frequent error messages, and usually required several tries before rendering a result. At first I thought it was the batteries, or that it went through them quickly. Now, even with new batteries, the device almost never gives a clean reading. It's worthless, and I should get my money back!
I received this product over the weekend. I tried it after a power nap after I went to brunch and had a BAC of .048, which seemed believable. 6 hours later, without having any more alcohol to drink, I tried again and had a BAC of .024, which isn't very likely. I tried again the next morning, again without having any more alcohol, and the BAC reading was still .024. I also have a device in my car, which will not allow me to start my car if I am over a .02. This device was calibrated two days before, and I was able to start my car immediately after receiving the reading of .024 on the Vio. I am not impressed.
I bought this a couple of months ago. Every time, and I mean every time, I blew my breath test it was WRONG. I had not had anything to drink for 3 days and the results measured alcohol intake. I would love this thing to be accurate, but as it stands, it is not. (Hey Bactrack, do I possibly have a defective product?) thanks
