My son absolutely loves his new car seat! I was so worried about if it would be comfortable, because most big car seats aren't . Love that it doesn't have to sit straight up so when he falls asleep, he even looks comfortable... with no worries of his neck !! And red color be perfect...
Very sturdy and love that it has anchor straps. Highly recommend this seat and brand!
We've been using this for about a month. My 9 yr old granddaughter is small but also has special needs and can't lift herself into the car. The arm rests are low enough for me to lift her into the seat. I love that the head rest adjusts up and down so I can also use it for the 4 and 5 yr olds too. It has good head support if they fall asleep. Very pleased so far.
So far I am loving this car seat for my middle (5 years old). He likes how it's a big seat and very comfy. Good support for long car rides and kids falling asleep. Even my oldest (almost 10 year old) said he wants a car seat like this! This was my second Diono purchase, will be purchasing one again in the future for my 3 year old.
This seat is our third seat (we went from our infant seat, to the Diono Radian RXT and to this one). This will hopefully be our final seat as it grows with the child. It clips into the car (only one of its kind) so it feels safer and has the side headrests so it just feels more secure for our long car rides on highways. Our son is comfortable in it and loves the cup holders. VERY easy to transport for travel as well. Highly recommended
Overall this is a nice booster seat, I have yet to put it in my car. My son has been sitting in for the past 2 nights to eat, draw, etc... The only thing I'm concerned with is the lack of padding on long trips. Did lots of research and found this one to be highly rated.
My kids say it's comfortable, but the seat is so wide that buckling can be a challenge. Not sure if we will keep or try another model at this point.
I ordered four of these seats, but they are not compatible with the seatbelts in my 2020 Honda Odyssey. The seat belt will not retract on its own through the guide, leaving belts loose on my children unless they manually feed it back through. It also turns into a tangled mess when they get out of their seats.
There is no padding at all in the head and sides, and very little in the bottom of this booster seat. my kids say it hurts their head. the latches and frame are cheaply made. I am scared the latches will strip out of their tension locks. also, every web listing says there is a recline position, but there is not one. It's either way too straight up, or laying flat. I tried to call Diono, and waited on hold until their system kicked me out, saying they would call me back. they never did. 1/2 hour after I called, got an email saying I could call them or email them back. Two days later, an email with a survey to rate how my customer experience was.
While this car seat has some good features, the expandable back and adjustable height. It needs the latch system for the back of it because it moves around too much. It needs something in place to keep the seatbelt in place at the shoulders. And even with the adjustable back it is still too wide for my 4 year who meets all of the requirements too use a booster seat! When you remove it from the car the back and seat come completely apart without even trying! I do not recommend
